E-mail from blizzard: ***Notice of Account Closure*** Account Name: WOW1 Reason for Closure: Terms of Use Violation -- Exploitative Activity: Unauthorized Cheat Programs ("Hacks") This account was closed because one or more characters were identified using an unauthorized cheat program, also known as a "hack." These programs provide character benefits normally not achievable in the World of Warcraft. Such benefits include, but are not limited to, increased speed, teleportation, or running through walls/boundaries. Use of these unauthorized programs harms the game environment because they offer an unfair advantage over other players and supersede the intended limits of the game. Even if this is the result of account sharing, the account owner can still be held responsible for the penalty because of the impact it had on the game environment. We've found the above behavior is many times directly related to groups responsible for compromising World of Warcraft accounts; we take these issues very seriously. To better understand our position against exploitative activity and the risks involved, please review this article: Impact of Buying Gold - Shop - World of Warcraft The exploitative activity that took place on this account violates the World of Warcraft Terms of Use. This is the latest response from Customer Support: Greetings, We have conducted an additional review of the action taken against the World of Warcraft account WoW1 and have arrived at the same conclusion. The account was found to have used unauthorized automation software (also known as "botting") to gain an unfair advantage over other players. Regrettably, as a result of these findings the action taken will stand. To protect the integrity of our investigation process, we do not disclose information about our investigation methods or findings. This includes, but is not limited to, the names of prohibited programs found to have been used. This action has been taken in accordance to our Terms of Use (Blizzard Entertainment:World of Warcraft Terms of Use) and our game policies (http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?articleId=20309), which all players acknowledge and agree to prior to participation. Please understand, any activities not intended by game design which affect the economy, the client, player characters, or the world itself have a tremendous negative impact on the potential enjoyment for all players. Yeah it was a good run for sure, obviously was to good to be true for that amount of time for that long, but MAYBE due to a new detection method? I'm on a pretty low pop serv and know most of the other farmers/botters on this serv, and they also got hammered about the exact same time as me. So I don't think it was due to just a mass influx of reports for botting, or even over time... But I could be wrong...
LoL, Ikr.. which is why I'm RaF'ing again over the weekend. Maybe this time, I'll put a day/time limit w/LogMeOut plugin! =P
Honestly I have nothing bad to say about this bot, I would suggest it to anyone. My ban more than likely was due to just pure carelessness, I would like to know if there was some new kind of detection method now just for future planning purposes. Or any tips on how to bot currently, besides the the obvious (DON'T BOT FOR 3 1/2 WEEKS STRAIGHT DUMBASS) response. =)
To be honest I don't think they have a new detection method, I think they are just *****ing down harder now on people who are botting excessive hours.
Don't bot for 3 1/2 weeks straight dumbass I do pretty much the same thing, have a farmer account and a guild bank that I use to feed my main toons. I was botting on my main account, but I realized it is too important to get banned, so I've got it down to where the only botting is to shuffle tradeskills. I only farm for ~6 hours a day. I use the multi-zones profile with my own custom zone farming profiles, leaving every zone after ~40 minutes. I only make about 10K a day, but my ability to be repeatedly noticed by other players/farmers is minimal, as is my actual time online, so auto account flagging should be non-existent, other than a detection. My friend who did the same thing, but was botting his farmer 24/7 also got both his farmer and his main account banned.
Its easy to spot bots at night in bg, since they are every-where since people like you sleep and let them run at night. i were over at my friends house and we played wow and the bg were shit full of bots, he reported them all. His a good pvp player and he hate seeing bots in bg. please stop being careless. would not be wired if you could get a pet soon if you reported enough bots!
I hope "he" knows it's a low act to report fellow botters. And you're dreaming if you think blizzard will reward you with an in-game pet for ratting out on fellow botters.
Just where did i say he bot himself? I guess he spares me since i am his friend. Although he did get alot of thanks from blizzard doing it.
I second that - I'm scared to leave my bot on just Questing longer than 2 hours at a time, and even then that's semi-supervised ><
I was using [Gatherit][Pandaria] Mega Multi-Profile B and got reported on the 28th, pandaria seems to be getting dangerous for gatherbuddy..
