So the bots are down and im grinding the hamster in my head thinking of ideas... Title says it all, would it be possible to make a profile for each role(dps tank heals stand here dps here etc) and put icc or any other high end instance on clockwork/farm mode? Ive read about the crazy guy who had 36 accounts and raided by himself. All he was doing was multiboxing.. Now multibotting?.... has to be possible, right? How doable is it? And are the high end instances even meshed? Does anyone know anyone that has or is right now? I think due to the nature of the Raid & Boss Mechanics it would be unlikely anybody could pull it off. However doubt it's impossible.
I posted a full guide of multiboxting on mmowned.. but itd be tough and expensive to do 10 accounts on a raid boss. But i bet if you set up the right classes and specs itd be doable. PM me for the link if you want
its possible, but it would take a lot of custom coding just to do one instance, i mean yea, healbot CC should be fine, but you would still have to mod it to stay out of AoE, instance buddy might pull it off, but you would have much better results with custom code all around.
If you were going to do this, you would need to know when the boss does certain spells. Like when he aoe's/Splits into other mobs/ spawns mobs/ etc it would be a lot of work but doable.
I remember back in the day this guy on my server had 10 accounts and would raid kara every week and he showed a pic of his setup on the multi-boxing forums I was on.... He had two keyboards on on top and modded two more keyboards with foot pedals for his heals. It was insane. I would think it would take ALOT of work and practice if you were multi-boxing. But with botting I don't know since I've never heard of someone doing this.
It would be very possible... but why would you want to? Attend (or make) GDKP runs (auction loot for gold). Yes it would be cool, but remember it would be very hard to maintain and very stressful; best thing is to not do it. Now farming 5 mans is completely possible
If you could get this running with custom coding and 10 manning ICC, you would be a legend my friend.
I multibox also, and a guildie of mine who also boxes has gotten the first 4 ICC 10 bosses down completely solo. Trickiest part for bots to do it, is for fights where they need to switch to adds, which there are a lot of in the ICC boss fights. Maybe have some sort of targeting priority system for DPS to target bone spikes, etc above the boss whenever they are up. And Tanking, that's tricky, they would need to save their CDs, rather than use on a certain % of HP. And the multi tank fights, of which there are a lot in ICC, the 2 tanks would have to synchronize taunts. If you could get custom coding for each boss fight, and if the toons were geared enough to not die too easily, I think it could be possible. Is it worth it tho? I can see the benefit, farm high level loot/badges, get rep, etc, but I think the amount of work required to get it done is not worth it. I think starting small would be a good idea. Try joining a pug with one bot, like maybe a healer role, and branch out from there. Try a 25 man, there's usually 5 toons in a 25 man that aren't really pulling their weight, and as long as they don't wipe the raid, nobody will question it. I hear the maker of instancebuddy is working on ideas for "raidbuddy" so we may see this come to fruition. Instancebuddy already does a pretty good job of getting out of AoE spells, but it relies on another toon in the instance to run toward, so maybe it wont work if all of them are bots.
I think someone should do this, and I mean defeating the Lich King, fully botted. You would think with the advancement in technology this is completely possible and the bot can do it all at once so human error is far less likely to happen (coding). A series of youtube videos for the entire instance, and then they send them to blizzard to stick it in their faces! It would be so damn epic!
Yes it is possible to do this. I have a friend that does 10 and 25 man raids.. off 1 box and fully botted. now if he would just give up the code *hint hint*
I wouldn't say impossible that someone already does it, cause there's probably a reason why he's keeping it quiet. Although 25 toons on one box, sounds a bit fishy. Must be an insanely powerful 12 core monstrosity...
Yeah, i mean for farming, it's one thing, the screens can be at like 5 FPS and still farm ok. but in a raid, with all those spells going around, i'd be afraid of it lagging out big time. But I've never tried running more than 7 wows at once on one pc.
During the openbot days I remember Apoc stating that he did a 10 or 25 man raid, and had it more than 50% cleared. (Keep in mind I'm drunk, could have been drunk when I read it too, and this was over a year ago). I know for a fact he had over 25 accounts going at a time. I think I could dig up a SS from IRC when he said that. Though, you all must know that the guys coding HB, have custom bots of their own.
wow seems like a bunch of people have given this some thought before ^_^ I am thinking of buying a new pc and with the pc will come the new accounts. Im thinking 10 total and I have six currently. 25.. Ya thats a massive amount of money but who knows? This is my main hobby Computer first IDK when im going to get it I need to plan that one out. Atm I do multibox my 80s (only 3) in pvp But there gear is pretty awful (3.0k gs on both) Im short on cash right now spent lots of money getting my main to 5.3k gs (not amazing but he doesnt really raid) Footpedals? Thats crazy! Do remember the 36 shaman guy raids everything completely solo, hes like my hero thats some guts and a boatload of cash! Multiboxing? Meh maybe I just think multibotting is more tangible. Could make a diff profile for each set 2 per dps stand here and stay im hotspot for 30 seconds move to next spot cnt dps so on for healers or roles. so will i? who knows pc 1st all 80s next Right now im bored with FAIL groups :/ on top of that when we pug ive never gotten past rotface on this server, ever. Starting to annoy me. 36 shaman guy started it to "not be dependent on other ppl to raid" well thats about as independent as you can get And in the past (in another game) Guilds were like the death of my botting and hacks so joining a guild is not an option at all. Only been banned twice and one of the times was a tattle tale guild
