Is anyone else unable to buy a wow bchest for 50% when they log into their account? The option doesn't pop up for me
Blizz knows there will be big demand for new accounts as soon as HB is back online. Why selling them for half price then?
Despite all they are saying that WOW is making them so much money I am not buying the whole crap they are saying. Subscriptions are down significantly and the whole token thing IF IT makes them money it will not make them enough to make back 50% of subscriptions and if they thought things were bad it gets worse if it becomes unbottable because there goes another 100k to 400k or more subscriptions. Their view to cleaning the game up is dangerous to their bottom line. I honestly don't think this next expansion will be the savior to WOW. It's heyday has come and gone. It's like when you get a movie and you have sequels. The first ones are always the best and the deeper you go the more it all looks the same and the shock and awe becomes more like yawn and stretch. This battlechest move might just be to make more money because they are bleeding it out elsewhere from WOW. I think I have said this before, maybe they should just have their own bot and charge a fraction extra to have it included in their subscription. This would even the playing field for everyone and make it uneconomical for bot makers. They would just have to meddle with the economy of the game. The only thing I would limit if I were them is Bgs, Dungeons and raids. No botting in those.
They're a publicly traded company. You can see that, YES, they are making a shit load of money... and it's growing. But they don't have to tell us exactly how... and clearly subs and new game sales are down. So, the rest of it just goes into "other" - ie: pet/mount sales, tokens, people buying chests in Overwatch and HotS, etc... https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/718877/000110465917065731/a17-20649_110q.htm
Is it saying where the money is being made? Is it saying Blizzard is making money or Blizzard is making money on WOW? They have a gazillion different games now and departments I am sure we don't even know of.
Okay. Looking at their financials here is what I am seeing: Revenues are up 380mil Expenses are up 279mil Net income down 145mil OVERALL Product Sales up 128mil Subscriptions up 508mil This is across all of Activision/Blizzard and King games from 2016 to 2017. My best guess here is that sales from other games helping WOW stay afloat. Truth be told when you look at the breakdown of the 3 entities: Activision/Blizzard and King you will see... In Item 9 we see that Blizzard net revenues in last 3 month 2016 was 729mil but as of Sep 2017 only 531mil a drop of almost 200mil or 27.2% drop in sales over same period prior year. This is despite launch of new Destiny 2 game. So this all goes to prove the point I was making before. Blizzard and WOW are tanking and the token has not helped their bottom line. Now keep in mind this is all despite Blizzard Destiny 2 release on Sep 6th which as you know generated some 744mil in sales. In truth you can see over the past 3 months compared to 2016 it's Activision and King making gains and Blizzard loosing. Again I say, Blizzard is dropping like a rock and no matter what you want to say about Token they are not saving this sinking ship and with this banwave it is expected that they will again cut into their user base and loose even more.
As I have already said it before: Those guys, which made the obfuscations, probably the same ones, who started to breach customers privacy by scanning the whole process list and windows titles, and effectively gave up the Honorbuddy development; Those would get shamelessly fired off Blizzard by their SEO, once the 4th Q'2017 numbers pops up, no matter what!
Friz it's a hard argument both ways actually. I get what you are saying about AION statement but truth be known if the police or CIA or FBI can just invade your privacy at will without legality then 1. The case would get thrown out 2. Everyone else's rights to privacy would be invaded. Always remember in life two wrongs don't make a right. So while I agree with you that WE the criminals have little ground to complain we actually can under criminal rules of evidence acquisition.
