Weird 1 today. Dungeon farming 11 accounts and 4 of them get banned along with 2 protection accounts (1 that had time expired). 7 accounts untouched. So much for that bullshit talk about wow installation stuff huh?. 1)Were you using Honorbuddy, Gatherbuddy or both on the account? HB 2)Which version (and Beta or Release)?: Last release 3)If so, when was the last time?: today 4)What profile were you using?: Dungeonbuddy 5)What combat class were you using? if None Just put Default then the Classname: druid singular 6)What plugins are you using?: none 7)How many hours per day did you bot for?: 24/7 8)What honest percentage of time did you supervise your bot? 10 9)How many auctions per day did you have?: 0 10)Did you Use Any Other Bots, Hacks, or Mods? None 11)Was your account involved in gold selling? Of course 12)EU or US realm? US 13)Is the banned account a Scroll of Resurrection or an actual paid account? Paid
Okay, then it is obvious that you will get banned. You cannot run more than one account, at the same time, on a single PC without Blizzard noticing.
umm.. I know? I dont care? Ive been banned hundreds of times. I will be banned hundreds more. This is a game of cat and mouse that is actually quite profitable.
tinfoli here ... i got 5 auccount ( 10 total at 1 pc , 20 at 1 ip ) and they are going strong for 12 weeks now farmed over 1 mln gold each ... been selling gold etc from bots and nothing not even warning from blizzard ... so pls stop bullshit
Do you mean that you were running all from one wow installation and think now it will help or that you ran all from different wow installations and now think it is bullshit because you were banned?
I mean for all the morons saying they ban based on wow installation ID's if that were the case why didnt I lose all my accounts? Hell I had 8 battlechests on 1 battle.net account and only 2 of 8 were hit.
Which doesn't prove your point at all. Do they ban all accounts upon locating and identifying them ? nopes. Delayed bans, or bait accounts, come to mind. Last 2 groups of account I got banned, they got 1 surviving in each. Playtime was the same and activity did too. While there could be just another reason, it could be a bait account....whatever comp it is used again, gets inta-flagged for investigation. I have been maintaining over 15 wow installations , sir. It is a massive pain in the ass, for any update of 1 MB makes it an hour or more of work. You surely will understand that those people who choose to use different installs, do not do it out of raw pleasure, but considering it is far too easy for blizz to use it as an "account-linker". Now, imagine yourself as blizzard. You have the means to identify accounts that share the same installation ID, without any technical or legal issue doing so. Why in hell wouldn't you use it? ...
If this were the case why did they leave me with so many bait accounts? Why did they ban less than half of my accounts? They only got 4 actual botting accounts. (other 2 as I stated were protection)
I don't think all those accounts left were spared as bait. As you stated , too many left. But there are lots of possible reasons they could have flagged just a few of your accounts. Let's recap (just what I can come up with in 5 minutes): - Even doing 24/7, and with a relogger, things like death handling and the "bot" farmers for Hk's make it so just a few of your accounts could be "active" at the moment the Gm wanted to investigate them. They can't ban an account for being AFK at the spirit ress, can they? -Did you ever change the farming dungeon? It could be only those farming X instance at X time were flagged to be banned. -Were all the banned accounts bought using the same paying method? Did those accounts use some of the cheapest bnet links that have been showing up lately, like russian-based ones? It should be no biggie considering that Blizzard investigate all those accounts. What can be the bot-non bot ratio in there? 80-20 at best? -Automated bans (most likely scenario ) based on X number of times Y item is looted, X number of times in Y boss is killed, X number of times Y instance is entered in Z time. It could perfectly happen that only those accounts that were banned fit the required assumption. TLDR: there are too many options to know why only half of your accounts were banned! We should not jump to conclusions based in such a few evidence.
There is just a single reason, but its much more complex than we could aware of. False positives! Thats why we get partially wiped sometimes. Blizzard for obvious reason have to filter out all the false positives, as much as possible. This could be easy proved with the 24/7 5man heroic dungeon farmer groups, which usually have the healer surviving the wipe. Thats because of the different flags serverside, which do register the different roles, performed by the botting characters.
