These programs provide character benefits normally not achievable in the World of Warcraft. Such benefits include, but are not limited to, increased speed, teleportation, or running through walls/boundaries. Use of these unauthorized programs harm the game environment because they offer an unfair advantage over other players and superscede the intended limits of the game. Even if this is the result of account sharing, the account owner can still be held responsible for the penalty because of the impact it had on the game environment. We've found the above behavior is many times directly related to groups responsible for compromising World of Warcraft accounts; we take these issues very seriously. To better understand our position against exploitative activity and the risks involved, please review this article: Impact of Buying Gold - Shop - World of Warcraft The exploitative activity that took place on this account violates the World of Warcraft Terms of Use. We ask you take a moment to review these terms at Blizzard Entertainment:Blizzard Legal Documentation. Note that additional Terms of Use violations may result in more severe actions against this account, up to and including permanent closure. Also, would it be in my best interest to wait out the 72hr temp-ban or play dumb and dispute? I appreciate all replies.
You have never even played WoW before, much less botted on other accounts? Now that is rather strange, i could only guess that the bot was stuck somewhere and someone seen it do the backstep/shuffle to unstick and just reported ya. Also, i wouldn't bother protesting a 72hr. Last thing you want is a actual human digging into the logs of your account.
were you doing any pvp? I know if flagged for afk in pvp can get the 72 hr. Only other thing can think of is IP ban, which they not supposed to do.
I have never personally played the game, a few friends of mine said that WoW had some good ways to make some extra cash, so i decided to invest in a copy while the holiday sales were going on. Only thing i did in game was use the leveling profile, and when it would get stuck, within 2-4 mins i would have corrected the bot, so it would be able to go back to its path. Last night i DL'd the Professionbuddy and attempted to run it just too boost mining/herbalism, but after sometime and major frustration, it would not load, and i just gave up for the evening. No PVP, BG's ever took place. I am kind of thinking it was all the materials i posted on AH. There were times when i would have ~6-10 stacks of a particular material and would just post it to get my space back, and also to afford future flight training. I did play Diablo 3 on this account, and it was banned(though, it was back in august when acct was closed). So there is speculation there. Atm, im just attempting to brainstorm all possible reasons and ways it could have come to be, so this sort of thing doesn't happen again. Feel free too post anything you may have questions about, and i will reply ASAP Beany
Hmm, the 6-10 stacks posted on the AH should not have been a problem at all. I am the number 1 "Busy Sellers" for my server on The Undermine Journal. From the info given and the fact that it is a 72 hour, and not a perm ban. I can only guess that it was a player report. Chalk this one up to just bad luck i think.
If you intend to bot, do this on a "fresh" account. Not on the one which is tempted to function Blizzard's alert system again.
