This was mostly to confirm another ban during this heavy time, and to give out some simple advice I learned the hardway with many accounts Just came back after a few weeks break. Instantly started botting both a paladin from 85 - 90 with questing. And my main gatherbuddy used it to gather some MoP mats and then rest of time mostly was collecting old world mats preparing to level up proffessions. Contrary to what a lot of people claim, mostly people who run a lot of wow accounts, and don't care as much about their accounts. Botting 20+ hours doesn't matter, it's player reports that do. I also agreed, but I do think blizzard has started acting on the amount of monitored or amount gathered, because in old world at 310% going from different zones I have extreme trouble believing I was player reported. In contrast to my paladin bot on questing on a very high pop server who can't do any quest without doing something stupid bot like is still up and running. My big advice gathered from my years of banned accounts - I firmly believe this are the cornerstone to most bans. 1. If you are making gold, NEVER mass post AH. ONCE A WEEK OF A DAY'S WORTH OF GATHERING IS MORE THAN ENOUGH AND RISK. Use methods like these: http://www.thebuddyforum.com/honorb...8599-pb-bengans-multi-profession-profile.html, http://www.thebuddyforum.com/honorb...9-pb-n-jc-alch-ench-insc-blazins-shuffle.html If you are trying to make money with mass gold. Their is no real perfect answer. Patience, and a very good setup is only way to make gold over time. If you try to do mass gather, and post on AH you will get banned eventually. 2. Botting long hours doing "inhuman" things. People have BGd for 10 hours, people have leveled for a whole day, hardly any one has gathered for multiple hours back to back. I firmly believe they can track how much ore/herb/w.e you've gathered. They've shown they can do it rather simply in other item related bans. THEY JUST MOST THE TIME DO NOT ACT ON IT. If you botted a bot that that just did a circle around a zone, and never did anything else pretty low chance it'd get banned. So again matters a lot on what you are doing. Gathering for four hours. BGing for four hours. AH Monitoring for One hour. Grinding for 2 hours. Offline for 8. Is what I believe is close to a perfect schedule. Most the time you can get away with it, but during times like before a big patch, like now. They clean up, and ban the people that have crossed whatever # of player reports / # of ore / w.e. UNLESS YOU KNOW WHEN BLIZZARD ALWAYS *****S DOWN, AND HOW EXACTLY THEY DO IT. Botting long hours will increase your chances of being banned multifold. 3. Using a cautious set-up to monitor player interactions. Example. Plugins like LogMeOut, I disable my mount in BGs( I don't stay with the pack, it doesn't really look bot like cause no one else is doing, and most importantly I don't ever get stuck on things because of height), using multi-zone maps instead of same old pattern over and over and over and over. Farming old world mats instead of heavily constested MoP mats. Never ninja nodes, a person is less likely to report a bot they have ganked 8 times that is obviously a bot, than a bot who killed him while they were low. Etc, etc. 4. And getting unbanned, In a old account I was unbanned for 4 times for AH exploiting before they finally sealed the deal lol. If you get banned for botting, always come clean, don't make up a big sob story, just be as professional as possible and say you take responsibility for it. Has best chance of working, obviously if you had back ups in terms of different IP this doesn't apply.
You say that you need to admit? If i got perma ban, i can write to them something like: Yeah, i really was botting, but i promise this will not happen again. or i just stupid?
If it is first time you were perma banned, and you didn't get 10 of your accounts banned at once. This has always worked for me, it just worked again. They usually over turn the perma ban to a 72 hour ban. Key thing is tho if you just seemed like a normal user who botted, if you've trafficked over a million gold, or had a lot of accounts just gathering and selling gold, chances of getting your accounts back are very slim. Example " I wanted some extra gathering for professions, and I botted. It was a mistake, and if you will let me back I promise I will not do it again."
