I got to thinking after I had an appeal of an account closure over turned to a 3 day suspension. What was said between myself and them, I didn't admit to any wrong doings or anything and they over turned to the suspension. Would a normal, innocent person that got accused of such actions just be ok with getting a 3 day suspension instead of their account closed when they didn't do anything? I doubt it. Sure, they'd be relieved that it's no longer closed but probably still be confused and/or pissed that they're suspended. So I'm wondering. Has anyone ever appealed such a decision that was beneficial with something like "That's great...but I still didn't do anything to warrant even a suspension so WTF?!" and get away with it? Cause again, I know damn well if my main got accused of something I didn't do, I wouldn't be ok with any actions aside from a clean slate. Would it not be admitting guilt that you did indeed do something wrong by pursuing no further action? Sure, pursuing it further could get them to over turn their 2nd decision and go back to closure...but taking no action what so ever admits guilt?
i believe that when your banned its because they caught you one way or another whether you where afk and got many reports of stucks or you simply where errant in your botting and got greedy and stayed online or any of the mistakes made by such actions. i think they reduce you to a 3 day because there losing too many users already because most games are going free to play i regardless if your botting or playing legit your still a PAYING customer and sometimes that outweighs what they wanna do so reducing you to a 3 day keeps you as a customer yet serves the purpose of slowing you down and keeping you from getting so bad you effect the legit players . Regardless if you admit it or not your account was observed one way or another using the tools to bot so i think its irrelevant if you admit to it or not your already found guilty the reduce in sentence is only a courtesy on there part i feel .
You are forgetting the bunch of addons that generate gathering paths for you and put node spawn points on players maps. Players following the directions of those addons will leave a similar footprint as a bot in Blizzard's LCP logs. Probably this is the only reason which makes appeals possible, so no, better not admit.
