Today I was banned (possibly for leaving my account logged in and HB running when servers went down). Here's the email I received: Greetings <REDACTED>, * * * NOTICE OF FINAL WARNING * * * Battle.net Account: <REDACTED> BattleTag: <REDACTED> Action: Final Warning, 72 Hour Suspension Violation: Exploitation/Abuse of Game Mechanics This includes exploiting game design or advertising exploits to other players. These exploits damage another character, their gameplay, the service itself, or the game economy. This is a final warning that all violations of the World of Warcraft Code of Conduct and Terms of Use must stop immediately (Blizzard Entertainment:World of Warcraft Terms of Use). In addition to this final warning, your game license has been issued a suspension as detailed above. Your game license will not be available for play during this time. As the account holder, you are responsible for the activity associated with this game license. The next violation of the World of Warcraft Code of Conduct or Terms of Use will result in permanent license closure. This page contains details on how suspensions are appealed and reviewed: http://www.battle.net/support/article/6741 Regards, Customer Support My question is: is this because of player reports for HonorBuddy, or could it be for another reason? The only other thing I can think of that I did was Bloody Coin farm (manually) outside HoL a few hours before I started botting again, and BTag added someone who managed to corpse camp me to bitch them out. I realize I'm an ass for doing this, but could this possibly be the reason I was suspended? I'm not really sure if that qualifies as an "exploit" other than that it let's me talk to the enemy faction, and people have done it to me before... I was also using a macro program (AHK) to "manually" cast a spell every 10 minutes during the botting, if that helps. So is it a bad idea to appeal this?
Indeed, the ban section is disabled for posting reply, so a smart move for asking your question here! From the ban email, its obvious, you have been hit after manual investigation, which usually take place after numbers of reports on your toon. The ban reason is still unclear, could be the corpse camping itself, even if it should not be a bannable offence, or the botting, which happened after. You still have to share what you have been botting, and for howmuch time etc., so we could assume, if that has made the issue for you. Generally, you seems to have been reported enough for manual investigation, this could have been happen in numbers of ways/scenarios: 1. Either when you have been camping HoL bots, you could have been dragged some rage towards you. 2. When someone on your friend list have watched your botting (Since your "friends" could see your character's location, they can move around you and witness your possible botting etc.) 3. Or when you have been reporting certain characters, the GMs usually check the both sides of the report for suspicious activities.
