Cue MDY Industries with Glider, as the title states, aren't you (devs) afraid of such similar legal repercussions? Just wondering. >.>
Bossland's name, address and phone(and its real info) are in public from day 1 so we have nothing to afraid of or to hide
Like Tony said. I believe it's because of different laws in Germany or something like that. Bossland Gmbh has been around for over a year now. And i'm sure Bossland is doing his best to make sure what happened to MDY won't happen to Bossland Gmbh I'm sure Boss will have a better reply than this ;>
Does blizz really have the money to fight everyone? If they're up against relatively poor folk then whats the point in spending hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees to lose subs? Bliz knows it goes on but theres no real point trying to fight it.
Hence, why they aren't going after everyone. If glider would've went on, It would've been the end of WoW . It would've ended up like a game a few friends of mine play called "silkroad" where people admit botting without any consequences. I mean... they can't ban ALL their userbase can they? that's lost money ;> Glider was BIG. and it was only going to get Bigger. They had to shut it down at the source. No reason in doing banwaves and losing userbase when they (Glider) can just bypass whatever method they used to detect them and still operate with close to no loss.
Also, keep in mind that MDY was based in the United States. Bossland GMBH is based out of Germany, where the law is much different and much more difficult for Blizzard to pursue. MDY broke US laws, Bossland is not breaking any German laws.
see actually Bossland is one of the Blizz exec's.. and his address in Germany is simply a mailbox at Mailbox Etc, he actually lives in Malibu and is drinking it up with Charlie and the gang
