Last week i was using my other account to use honorbuddy, I used kick's profiles to level from 80 to 90 and and then maxed out herbalism on a druid. I placed my bot on gatherbuddy and left it run on the Valley of Four Winds for about 3 hours while i went into town. i came back and was logged out of the game and didn't really thinking anything of it because after sitting afk for too long the game automatically logs you out. I tried to log in about 3 days later and got error 102 account banned. I looked in the email and it said that the ban was for hacking, eg. Using a program to obtain something not normally obtainable in the World of Warcraft such as Running through walls or running at faster speeds. To my knowledge i have nothing of the sort, but the account that i am using was my cousins who has quit the game quite some time ago. Maybe blizzard thought that i acquired the account unlawfully and banned it for that reason but then that seems like a different type of hacking than the examples that were provided in the email. Any information that anyone has on what happened would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Not coming to the forums to ask for help in retrieving the account simply just trying to avoid the same consequence again.
the words use in the email are not important. they are form email, they arent written for each specific case. you got banned for botting
I just feel that they would have said botting rather than hacking but i have never been banned so again i have no previous knowledge. but oh well. any tips on how to avoid this from happening again then.
