Not sure how to formulate the title properly.

I got banned several times for botting using a bot that got into legal quarrell with blizzard and is gone from the world (not sure if I'm allowed to use names as it could be seen as advertising). This was probably 5-6 years ago during early wotlk or late tbc. Not sure if this is even true (memory fails me), but I think my main account got banned several times. First 24h, 2nd 48h, 3rd 72 hours. I am aware this is not how it works anymore. 1st ban is 72h then perma.

I quit and came back about a month ago and started botting with HB after I reached 90. I don't bot overly much, just run BGBot with supervision and some plugins/modifications to not make it take the same paths as every other bot. My question is: If I get banned on my main account now, will it be the 72h one or the permanent one? Seeing as I've been banned for it before, allthough it was an eternity ago.

U would get probably 72h since that time there was no battle net, they probably don't have that data anymore. But I'm not sure.

Noone will be able to answer this question for you, and it's not always 72 hour then perma. Blizz does what they want, when they want.

The only way you can ensure you won't be banned for botting is not to bot. I know that's not the answer you're looking for, but it's one of the only rules that holds true here.

Hehe, ryftobuddy. I am well aware of the risks, all I can do is minimize the chances and hope for the best :) I don't mind getting banned, I suppose. Obviously one would prefer not to, but I don't have the finances to keep other accounts afloat to bot on to preserve my main account. I don't even have the finances to keep my main account active, so if I get banned it's just for the better :p

Just don't go haywire with it. If you will be doing any AFK botting then try and set up a checking app on your phone or something if you are that scared.

Edit: Obviously I can not read. Blizzard bans on their own terms, human interaction is required most of the time for bans. As said by a GM/Rep himself.
