This was banned during a very early hour for Blizzard's time zone (between 12AM-6AM PST), so I'm not sure what to make of this. I'm most likely not going to appeal for this, because my server's economy is beyond screwed because of obvious botters and I'm starting to actually feel bad about contributing to it. I guess my main question is: Is my main account at risk now, if I never bot on it? Also, are middle of the night bans like this commonplace?

Just sharing some of my experience.

Middle Night bans are commonplace. Some are triggered by LCP, some by player reports, and it's true that GMs are more active during late hours where most are sleeping. It's easier than not to spot a bot or to check out player reports during this time.

During one of my crusades couple months back, I have had 4 gatherers acc on my main b.net account, they all got banned right about the silent hr. And it can't be due to player reports, probably LCP detection, coz I was running 1-600 mining/herbing on all of them. My main acc was left untouched. Of course I appealed, and they revoked the ban to 72hr suspension. But it's hard to refute the obvious trails that we are botting, assuming the following:

      1. All acc ran on the same PC, same IP

      2. All acc exists on the same B.net account, so if all 5 incl. main were doing different tasks at the same time = BOT, if not it would be against the TOS/EULA of account sharing.

      3. Running the same paths alternating between hotspots to hotspots, trigger LCP. I don't know how long does the LCP logs activity, but I was banned again sometime later using RandomBuddy.

      4. Once you are banned, your accounts are highly monitored, even after they revoke the suspension, why? I was running Kick's leveling on my rogue (Gatherer acc), was monitoring it ALL the time, it got to level 10 (About 15-20min), and is perma banned. The main account this time is suspended for 72hrs, while it was sitting in Orgrimmar awaiting my flex grp to turn up, main acc haven't even started HB yet.

However, all is not lost. While the Gatherer accounts were in suspension.

      1. Before the gatherer got my main suspended, I was still botting on my main farming Timeless Isle non stop, while the Gatherer sits out the ban.

      2. It ran for about 18/7, mixed with my own play and a lot of afk dailies or Tyrael, and never had significant risk.

What made my main got banned, as I assumed.

      1. I logged my main and one of the Gatherer account together.

      2. I botted the gatherer account, while I was using the AH and talking on my main.

      3. Gatherer account got scanned, or monitored, was banned again. My main that exists on the same IP and PC got suspended at the same time while I was waiting for raid.

So all in all, bot really safe. Now I have new bots on a different B.net, and I flush my IP (My ISP provides Dynamic IP) every time I log between my main B.net and my gatherer B.net. So far for a couple months, I haven't faced any problems.
