Hello, I'm looking to see what is the best anti-virus / spyware / malware / adware / etc program (hopefully an all-in-one) that isn't mcafee or norton anti virus.

I like avg, spybot, malwarebytes ... is there something that has it all? I download a lot of torrents on my downloading laptop and i'd like to keep it free from intruders.

      thanks

for firewall i use the built in windows firewall, and thats it. I do this only on my personal machine because i know whats safe, whats not, and when something hinky is up.

on my brother/dad computers, i have Comodo Firewall/AV and Windows Security Essentials, with settings mostly automated so they dont get confused by cryptic warnings.

I do have a USB stick for code red situations, it has Spybot, MalwareBytes, HijackThis, and a couple of file recovery tools i cant remember at the moment.

other firewall programs that i have had good experience with is the ZoneLabs suite, and BitDefender Firewall. Zonelabs is easier to setup and use, BitDefender is a more technical program with advanced networking features.

i dont use antivirus at all and i downloaded hell lots of jav/anime/kdrama/softwares etc etc. I just format everything anything goes wrong. It works for me.

Edit : i dont think theres one software have it all, but AVG free version is good enough on its own i think.

      Microsoft Security Essentials.

It's light weight, it updates with windows. and its 100% free!

Read reviews about it, it is very good, uses little to no resources, and its very effective.

      G Data, -
indeed Avira has a good detection rate but also much false positives and
huge problems to remove a trojan.

So take G Data, fuck off spybot shit and all this crap you should just also
take Hijackthis. Remove the remain, play the game.

If you have Windows 7, get Microsoft Security Essentials.

Just practice safe browsing habits and you won't need one.

I use Avast Internet Security and I love it. It actually smoked Symantec Endpoint Protection and found 4 more virii on my system... so I stuck with it.

Nod32 nothing thats free, you get what you pay for right, but if you just need to do a scan for viruses use malwarebytes Its what we used when I worked at bestbuy its good for a quick scan

All virus's / malware can be made undetected from any/all antivirus application quite easily, if you have a "virus" on your pc its already too late all you infomation is probs been stolen and your more than likely part of a bonnet. Solution: Reformat windows / get nix.
