So what bots do work smoothly and flawlessly? Space missions are nice, but I have to do the ones that are about 5-10lvls lower then myself, even with maxed out ship upgrades I get utterly destroyed. Are there some good profession bots? Griding? etc just wondering what peoples opinions are. Thanks.
ATM kicks questing profiles work. Not all class's implemented yet. Space missions are not ready IMO. No companion crafting/missions yet. Or just make your own grinding profiles. Or can ask for request on profile.
atm we're still selling the grinding / farming bot at a discount from the full price (questing, ships, etc) while we finish developing stuffs! Hopefully in the next couple of months when we have more features, we will get more customers. But atm Buddywing doesn't have a huge customer base at all. So we still have a small/medium sized dev team on it (apoc, aevitas, me, cng, and an un-disclosed dev) If customers get bored enough, I hope they will help out with the profiles (it's easy copy / paste for the most part... and they can add me to skype and ask me questions if they are serious like in2fun does)
From my experience all of the classes levels 1-10 light and dark work. Empire Dark Agent and Republic Dark Consular have worked for me into the thirties. You have to babysit them a bit bc some of the missions wont finish if you just leave them.
I am so confused... I downloaded the buddywing bot from the download area, and when I ran it I got a message that it was outdated. I attempted to update it and my virus software deleted the file. I worked that out (which was difficult because I'm not so computer savy as most of you are). Then, I come back here to find the most current version and I get the same one that requires an update. A few days ago, I somehow downloaded a set of profiles that worked. Then, the latest version of buddy wing requires profiles from the internet. So, I come back to this forum to download a working profile and I get caught in loops that either send me back to the top of the forum or else send me to WoW profiles. Is there any way to make this less confusing for a guy like me? I need a simple button for the latest version of the bot and a simple link to each of the profiles that are available for testing. Please.
Get the real latest one from [HERE] 1) Create a folder in a location with good permissions. For example C:\Users\lotrodude\My Documents\BuddyWing 2) From the downloaded zip file "BuddyWing 1.0.872.284.zip" place this into your BuddyWing folder. 3) Extract the zip file, you should now have two items in your BuddyWing folder. The "BuddyWing 1.0.872.284.zip" and "BuddyWing 1.0.872.284" (because you just unzipped it) 4) Rename the folder you just unzipped to BuddyWing 1.0.872.284_DEFAULT (This is just so you know which installation of BuddyWing you have will be the one you use on a standard day by day basis 5) Make sure you have Subversion SVN Installed. Right click inside your BuddyWing folder and select "SVN Checkout" then enter the following url into the repository URL it is asking for: kicks-swtor-scripts - Revision 336: / 6) After checking out, you should now have three items in your BuddyWing Directory File 1) BuddyWing 1.0.872.284.zip File 2) BuddyWing 1.0.872.284_DEFAULT File 3) kicks-swtor-scripts 7) Now in the latest version, you CAN use a Web Link for the Profiles. But you do NOT have to do this. Go into your "BuddyWing 1.0.872.284_DEFAULT" folder and create a NEW directory called "Profiles". 8) Go back a directory level and go into "kicks-swtor-scripts" folder. You will see four more folders inside this. "branches", "tags", "trunk", "wiki". Navigate into the "trunk" folder and you will see two folders of interest to you. The "Empire" and "Republic" folders. Select both folders and press Ctrl+C to copy them to your clipboard. Then go back to your "BuddyWing 1.0.872.284_DEFAULT\Profiles" directory and press Ctrl+v to paste them into that directory. 9) Now to keep upto date with the latest WingIt which controls all the combat, CC and how your bot should use its abilities you will need to create another folder for another SVN. So go back to your "C:\Users\lotrodude\My Documents\BuddyWing" and right click then select "SVN Checkout" just like you did before for the Profiles created by Kick. Now enter in the Repository URL: "https://subversion.assembla.com/svn/wingit.2/trunk/WingIt/" and press OK. You should now have FOUR folders inside your BuddyWing Directory. File 1) BuddyWing 1.0.872.284.zip File 2) BuddyWing 1.0.872.284_DEFAULT File 3) kicks-swtor-scripts File 4) WingIt Due to the nature of WingIt being improved on a regular basis, you should never change what is inside the WingIt folder, only ever use SVN Update. But if you would like to try out the latest SVN version which may contain fixes for certain classes then all you would need to do is go into your "BuddyWing 1.0.872.284_DEFAULT\Routines" directory folder, delete the folder named WingIt and replace it with the one in your BuddyWing Directory. You may even like to make another folder so that you have two folders for BuddyWing: BuddyWing 1.0.872.284_DEFAULT and BuddyWing 1.0.872.284_EXPERIMENTAL which you can always update the Routines folder with the latest WingIt for testing purposes so that you can help the developers test its changes. When you first launch BuddyWing enter in your key and then when you select load profile, you should navigate to the directory BuddyWing 1.0.872.284_DEFAULT\Profiles (From Step 8 in this short guide) and choose one from either Empire/Republic and you should be set to go. Please always use a logging level Diagnostic or ExtremelySpammy when you are using the latest version of WingIt or BuddyWing as there is always a possibility of helping the developers improve the bot by providing good logs for them to analyze any problems it has encountered while botting. UPDATE: You should keep an eye on the kicks profile SVN as there ARE bugs in the profiles. Kick is working hard on improving these. The more people who actually REPORT rather than just use, the more fixes can be provided for the profiles. But every now and then you should update the kick SVN on your folder and re-copy the Profile XML files ( The Empire and the Republic folders ) into your "BuddyWing\BuddyWing 1.0.872.284_DEFAULT\Profiles" folder to make sure it's using the latest which may contain fixes for your character. NOTE: FYI, I have no idea what Anti Virus you are using but I suggest you uninstall it and any other anti-virus software and then install Microsoft Security Essentials. It does not throw poor false positives and is a lightweight Anti-Virus with realtime scanning. [GET IT HERE]
The bot ran fine for a couple of days, but today it will not load "Routines." I went back to read your guide so I could try to trouble shoot it and there is a part that I need clarified. Should there be a "WingIt" folder in my "Buddy Wing Default" folder (the folder with the .exe file) and another "WingIt" folder in my "Buddy Wing" Folder (the main folder that holds all Buddy Wing folders)?
"Buddy Wing Default\Routes\WingIt" <-- This is the one that BuddyWing is always use, this is what is created and put into the CompiledAssemblies folder that is generated when you first run the BuddyWing.exe. If anything stops working and you changed NOTHING. *NOTHING AT ALL* Then first try and delete the CompiledAssemblies folder and rerun the .exe. If it still does NOT work, then delete the ENTIRE "Buddy Wing Default" folder and re-extract from the ZIP folder in your highest directory folder "Buddy Wing". And start again. B
Sometimes deleting your settings folder helps also. All the ones named of your toons. I delete them and CompiledAssemblies folders every time restart bot.
The bot is working great! Thank you "sneakyman" for your patience in detailing each step I needed to take. I really appreciate your help!
