Here is my oppinion ...for whatever it is worth; First understand, there is no magic "gimme gold" button on the bot. Many of the same things people do to earn gold manually by tradeskills or farming ore and herbs still apply. So being set up to do those things are where you will make the most gold. For instance, if you choose to make gold by mining then having a JC also helps to maximize the profit from the gems you get or prospecting the ore that you harvest. Same goes for herbs and having an alchemist. Every server is different, so deciding what direction to go to take advantage of what sells well will be up to you. I know many have different ways to go about making their gold, but this is the formula I have followed since I started and can say I have already made well over a million gold just playing casually. Gold making is unique and specific to your realm and faction. What are your toons professions? I would suggest, just to make things easy, that you make your toon a miner/herbalist and just use GB2 to farm herbs and ores and sell them in the AH for gold. There is little to do except starting your bot and selling the materials. For profiles, try several different Cata profiles from the profile section. Again this is a unique thing. You may have a lot of botters on your realm using the same or similar profiles so you will need to keep an eye out and change profiles if necessary. Or make your own. It is easy to do and then you will have a unique path. For settings, I suggest setting it to log out when bags are full. This keeps your toon from being online too long and keeps it from being noticed. Make sure Ninja Nodes is turned off. This is important. Nothing makes you look more like a bot than landing on someone’s head and trying to gather the same node they are already gathering. For a hunter you can probably use the CC that comes with HB. Or try FPSWARE HUNTER as I know it works well with GB2.
I do mining + herbing, bring in 10k every 12 hour. Of course, the economy on my server is good, I don't do auction, only sell via trade, and I got people line up for CODs. So do mining and herbing. Of course, most of my gold comes from volatile life, I sold 1k life for 6k.

Keep in mind that the easier something is (or the fewer steps involved), the more competition you will have and the lower the price - in general. What I mean by that, on many servers, picking up herbs and mining is pretty easy, so many ppl (and many botters) do this alot and sell them on the AH - simple but often flooded. BUT... if you take that ore, and prospect it with JC - and then sell the blues, and disenchant the greens - and either sell the mats or enchant them into scrolls (paying attention to which ones make more gold on your server) - then you can make more gold. AND if you make sure to get enchants/glyphs/plans for things that are not just given away be the trainer, then you can find the real money in each profession. There are hundreds of incriptionists on your server selling the glyphs that are taught by your trainer, but only a few that are selling ones taught by the book of glyph mastery (most likely... I don't know which server you are on of course). Same as the Fireland dalies... it takes 31 days to get through them and get to the final venders (just 1 of the 3 - it takes 5 more days for each of the other 2). There are only a few on most servers selling what those plans make because it takes so long to get them. So... maybe look for the 'easy way' (mining and herbing -> AH) for quick gold, but look into the services for more gold in the long run.
