I'm sure this will start a flame war... go ahead I don't care if this get some attention then so be it... Anyway as far as my experience goes BG botting with HB absolutely, totally, completely sucks. My toons run around like an idiots. They pass up our sides battle spots and head right for areas totally dominated by Horde. For instance very often my Pally runs right thru my group in a tough deal-breaking battle for a key BG location and in stead of helping he heads right to a Horde stronghold and attempts a solo, kamikaze style, raid on 6 or 7 Horde and gets his azz kicked like pronto. So the process goes resurrect-kamikaze-die-wash-rinse-repeat. I can't remember my Pally, who has really good Cata Purple and Blue gear in every slot, iLvl almost 340 and great Gems and Hurricane & Madness trinkets, FE Mindcrusher, 120k HP unbuffed 4500 STR, lasting more than 1 minute. I am always by-far the lowest on the points tally after the BG is over. Yah, I get a few Honor points but at 20 - 30 per BG when others are getting 100 - 200 takes forever to earn any decent gear. I've tried all the profiles that still work. Lately I'm using "wOOts" BG profiles and I have tried all of the CC's that still work and they all suck... no offense... this is a total waste of effort because by the time I earn enough to get any gear somebodies bound to notice I'm a bot based on the idiotic things my toon does repeatedly... Is this just me...? I mean is anyone actually even remotely competitive in BG's using HB... I've tried PVP and the new BG Bot (beta) and they are horrible. Actually, as a test, I tried all of the bot's that would function in a BG and the one that worked best was Grind bot with me semi-directing my Pally and with me selecting the targets... If someone has any (worthwhile, constructive) suggestions I'm all ears but I think this issue is way beyond a simple tweak of the pull distance or spell rotation... Is there any plan to actually make HB's BG bots work or is it just here as a teaser for advertising... don't get me wrong... the Grind Bot works f'ing great, better than Glider even... but once you hit 85 what you gonna do.. farm Eternals all day?
Are you using the new BG Bot or the old Battleground Bot? Other than SoTA I've been able to run all of the Battlegrounds just fine on multiple characters, though not Paladin, maybe they just need to improve the Pally CC's. Sorry you're having bad luck, but BG Buddy has been working amazingly well for me, its caps flags in Arathi and and Alterac Valley like a pro.
Yep, I'm using BG Bot and have used PVP too... no real difference. I have the same results with my Feral Drood too...
I would have to agree with this. I've found that they are both pretty bad. Always just figured I wasn't doing something right.
same thing here. Using a follower plugin like squire usually helps a lot my results. Healing seems to be just fine.
personally, i was not impressed with melee pvp for the bot. ranged wasn't too bad, but melee failed pretty hard
The other part is that CC's seem to be written mostly for PVE, and are just too slow for PVP; also CC's like Shamwow & plug-ins like Squire make certain classes and builds much much more successful than melee. IDK enough about rotations to offer anything helpful to the CC writers who are asking for input, and I can't say anything against their work bc its all out of generosity...but I can rip on HB for providing the absolute worst CC's ever and not even trying to improve them. Oh well, what more can you expect from whats become a free bot.
I think a lot of it has to do with the CC's. I'm not complaining because I know how much hard work and effort goes into the creation of them. I used to code myself. What I think we really need is dedicated CC's for PVP only. I'm seriously considering starting one soon.
Yeah i have to agree that PVP botting is very weak in HB... I found running certain CC's and Plugins will bot you just well enough not to get caught but they do make it a slow grind for honor. There are not to many plugin or love in pvp botting development in HB... I rather level with PVP then with Grinding and questing... Makes me miss Glider so much more because tons of profiles were posted so often that is would be hard for the average joe to know you were botting because you can change it up so ofter... with HB you know right away by the paths they run... Squire is a great plugin but only seems to work very well in AB but if your not a healer or a casting class forget about using it...
BG isn't very good unless you use squire and a casting class (preferably healer with squire as outlined which works very well in most cases ( top 3 in healing almost every time no matter healer)) The CCs have limited support for pvp (some better than others) I think alot of this is due to limited class support. Cimmerian and Convalesce are no longer updated both have nice options and work well even though they are outdated. Shamwow best cc here by far works well in every part of honorbuddy I have tried. IMO only complete CC here Singular with Apoc, Bobby, Nuok, Raphus, ect....(hope FPS joins in) should be a top notch CC when completed ( needs work for pvp) I think if squire paired melees with active healers in bg's then melee CC's would work much better, same with rng. I'm not ranting because Honourbuddy is by far the most advanced bot for WoW available. If glider had continued then story would be different. I know many of the developers here worked on that and other bots of past. No one should complain much, the grinding, questing, archeology, and gatherbuddy are top notch and you can do these right out of the box. lots of great profiles already written.
I'm gonna have to agree with OP. It doesn't go AFK or get reported for slacking in BG's, but it definitely could do a lot better aswell.
Even with a good CC, bg bot is useless alot of the time.. Eg just watched my shaman (using shamwow) run and and around and around in circles RIGHT infront of spawn in WSG at the top of the cliff...
