So guys i stumbled across this: Blizzard considering gold-for-game-time trades in World of Warcraft | Ars Technica What do you think?
Read carefully: That means that they only legalize selling game time (which is bought for real cash to other players for gold, so basically they just legalize one of the WoW shadow market sides. The only problem is that prices on gold will be dictated by these items.
If they do it the right way it wont affect us much, because its most likely that the gametime tokes will be quite expensive and botted gold will be cheaper, but I am a little concerned that they wont do it the right way . You know how Blizzard is unable to ban accounts that are boosted to level 90 with stolen CC data in time, so those botters are able to make some profit from the few days they are running, Im concerned that this might happen to those gametime tokens, except there you get your cash really fast, its not a matter of days to sell that stuff and then the gold. Also what are the consequences ? The dude who bought the gametime token using CC fraud, is out of the game, and his account might be closed but depending on the amount of tokens he was able to buy he might have made 200k gold in just one hour. And the buyers on the other hand - you cant blame them right ? They just bought the cheapest gametime token from /2 or the AH. I am a little concerned they got this great idea from Archage which I was playing since release, they have an option to buy an item which costs 10€ and for that you get like 1200 diamonds, but you need 2400 for a month of gametime, in addition those diamonds can be used in the ingame shop to buy mounts and clothes no real p2w stuff, basically like blizzards ingame shop . Cant start the game to check prices though - its broken -.- but I think buying your gold from a big site will give you at least the double amount per € compared to the investment for the gametime token ... EDIT: just talking to a friend who has acces - they seem to have issues with these gametime tokens, i know you werent able to buy them for a couple of days two weeks ago but seems that they still havent fixed it.
People thought the same thing would happen when they allowed buying and selling of the guardian cub pet. Obviously game time tokens will be a lot higher demand though so it could dampen the market a bit.
Idk I used to buy and sell credd in Wildstar. Sell gold to people like normal, then buy credd and resell for irl money for cheaper than they cost normally. Was a way to make money with the excess gold. In D3 when you could buy gold from the AH it helped stabilize prices for selling gold 3rd party. Maybe it will for wow too? That stolen cc thing though I see going crazy and screwing it all up hardcore - for people selling gold and those that aren't. Either way I'm going to dump all my gold and buy my guild like a year of gametime each lol. No more "I can't raid because I don't have money for gametime".
Mortals do not fear, here are the solutions to scammers with stolen CC 1. Limit the tokens you can buy 1st/2nd/3rd time 2. Add a 7-14 days for the 1st/2nd/3rd purchase until you are able to sell them. 3. If account was frozen for more than 14 days, you will start from point 1. 4. ???? 5. Profit
If a battle chest cost like 7€ and you can sell the tokens for more then 20k it is easy to buy an account and the tokens sell those tokens en buy a new account
