I was checking my toon a couple of days ago and I saw him trying to target an underwater mob.... but the mob was 100% buried, not seen underwater, and he attemped twice to target and kill it, so im wondering if that's a bug or blizz using booby traps in game. also I was banned today, so im appealing my ban situation, my fault, I did bot overnight and I didn't check on my toon all the time, some times was 10% there, 90% solo... unattended... so again my fault the profile I was using was the kicks 1-90, I don't gather with gatherbuddy, I just gather manually. now returning to the booby trap problem, ive tried to target the mob manually and it didn't work, so, imagine.... the bot did target it and could not get it. so maybe i had a GM on my ass or, they add mobs and detect botters by "unrealistic target technics" ?
I remember now, at Uldum, a tiger was evading 100% of attacks and was stuck on some small stones, weird.
Booby trapped mobs and npcs have been around since glider, and they've always been a problem for botters.
anyways about my ban, I was hacked and all my gold / gear sold to who knows... I recovered all my stuff
There is a Heckling Hyena like this in a tower in southern barrens (where the quest is that you jump down the cliff using ropes, then arm 5 orc slaves with weapons).
I think this probably is a bug in the game... For example; goto stormwind, stand at cataclysm portals and type: /tar mobus
It is not the same thing. Mobus has the biggest target range. But some mobs we are talking about here are especially planted as a bot catcher. I remember a scorpid placed intentionally in the air in Dread Wastes, an evading tiger in Valley of the Four Winds, a mob placed in the wall in Storm Peaks, a direhorn pet placed in a tree in Sholazar Basin etc.
