I was capping skirms earlier today on my alliance priest on tich and some level 97 warrior, who was in eye of the storm said "Report (my toons name) and (a botting dk) as known arena botters" in the looking for group channel. Our character's names were displayed in class colors as well. Anyone seen this yet?
do you use an addon called Prat? That addon changes the color of your name when mentioned in a chat to your class color.
There is an addon that spams chat with a bunch of crap, pulling from random nearby people. The only reason you're wondering about it is because you do actually use HB. If you didn't, you'd just tell this guy to fuck himself and he'd tell you that LOL IT'S A TROLL ADDON.
might be related to that crappy addon i see in raid all the time. somehow it reads member's names from the raid group and you can customize the message. example 'slejrt-illidan, lkanmseor-azralon, binky-stormreaver stop standing in the fire!' the weird thing is, the poster isnt even in the raid, guild, party, server, just in the same zone. i dont even know if you can do a /who by raid id, group
Probably just someone having fun with writing "Report {g1} as known arena botters". When {g1} is parsed by ANYONE they will see the names of the people in THEIR OWN group 1.
" Please report {g1} for yadadada " will replace {g1} after you type it to the group members of whoever reads it.
Tin hat idea... They did what they did to see if you'd come to the HB forums and post about it to get people's opinions on the matter...And now they know you're a botter.
There has been a thing going around where people post your name in trade chat somehow with a message after it but you are the only one who can see it.
