As the title says I want to connect to my home computer from the fire station. Maybe to help the wife with computer issues (cause she needs it, trust me:mad:) or just to grab a file for fire department issues that i forget to get. I have alot of training stuff on my portable hard drive, at home that I do not have room to put on laptop or zip drives. Prefer a free method. (I have torrent access!)

I have Windows 7 Professional at home, but on laptop I have Windows 7 Home Premium.

Thanks ahead of time for info!

I'm not sure there's an easy way to "grab a file" remotely.
i use dropbox to store my files online....at least for the ones i may want from both work and home

you can usually connect to pro OS by using remote desktop...you can also set up VNC on your home computer...vnc is slower..but is more or less OK

a program worth the money is logmein

I use it on remote comps, use t to provide tech support to my distant family/friends and I can control my bot with my iphone.

they have a free version and it has all the features I want plus you can download any file from the remote cpu to your cpu aswell.
