Cross realm zones came to my sever about 24 hours ago, it's absolutely horrible.

If you're on a low pop server It's literally just the worst parts of it (bad economy, difficult to find groups for pve & pvp ect ect)....... Now combined with the worst parts of a high pop server (overcrowding, competition for rares, pets + farming materials such as ores, herbs & skinning will be harder to farm). Say goodbye to efficient farming.

I can't even farm my netherwing rep legitimately while the bot is down in a reasonable timeframe due to the zone being dead. So Now of course it cross realms too many people over and of course they are also farming netherwing rep since no one is actually lvling so it transfers over all 85's!!!..... This would apply to other rep areas too, Particularly lower lvl zones.


Not only is this bad for the general players it's 10000x worse botting for obvious reasons.


This is absolutely ridiculous. Thankfully a lot of others are complaining on the forums. Make sure to let blizzard know this is a horrible idea by posting on the official wow forums.

yes terrible i cannot stand to see so many people from other servers stealing my nodes and stacking on me no matter im camping/farming. total ridiculousness.

 

It will definitely put a dent in botting but it will be good for the game overall.

 

PvP yes, questing and farming no.

Also like I mentioned it gives a huge disadvantage to low pop servers, most of the low pop's servers materials will go going off realm further ruining it's economy.

If you re-read the op and go read the complaint threads in the official wow general forum you will understand.

I don't need more players on my realm when I'm on a high-full server with 10hr+ queue times for expansions. (this is affected because I have to wait so long for q, then I have to wait for nodes to respawn.....)

 

It wont apply to high pop zones so farming with GB wont be hurt as the zones for maxlvl herbs/ores are usually populated so they wont share these.
But farming pets and lowlevel stuff may get really painfull in the future.

 

Cool story bro. Especially since Blizzard already announced that all "old" areas will *NOT* get cross-realm. cross-realm zones will only be available in selected parts of Pandaria.
Ergo: NO, cross-realm zones did not come to your server yet.

 

it only works in some areas's but in most the only time you can cross server is if you are in a party with somebody from that other server

 

Except that they HAVE come to old zones. I was tripping all over people from other servers trying to do Argent Crusade beginning quest line in Icecrown Tuesday night. We were fighting for spawns like it was launch day in goblin town. (Yay hunter range attack!) And frankly, my bank toons LIKED having Silvermoon and Thunder Bluff to themselves. And I I really hate having my clock change on me all the time.

So if that's what Bliz said then either they lied or its unbelievably bugged.

 

Who plays on low pop server anyway?

I only see benefits for botting to me because the zones won't be as populated on my server.

 

Farming for the Time Lost Proto with 30 alliance from off my server is really a pain in the ass.

 

Why would I make this up lol? also many complaint threads on the official wow forums about it.

Its stupid that I'm on one of the highest pop servers in the game yet blizzard is trying to add more people in.... seems legit.

My server is far from dead in zones.

 

Give it a few weeks for when all the level 20+ monks can't level because they're getting farmed by cross server people. Also here is a blue post on cross server zones;

 

I went to a full server and the starting zone is very populated. This will make certain achievements hard and screw farmers.

 

Isn't cross realm for selected servers only? I'm certain i read that somewhere.....ill try and find link

Perhaps most interestingly, the patch introduced cross-realm zones, which should help you find group mates in less populous zones in your home realm. It?s only available on some realms at the moment but will spread over the next few weeks.

It's going to every server. It's being rolled out over a period of time. SO dumb....

 

im competing for farming spots in 1-60 zones, its def in old zones and i can see they are from different realms. and its going to make botting hell, because so many more people will be there to report you

Why the hell would we care about private servers? Talking about retail wow here.

I'd suggest you read the whole thread instead of assuming that it was retail? even if it was i see no mention of retail being mentioned?....so yeah i guess i am the genius here
