yes and no. games r fun, but as long as you "play" in freetime its a great "bored time" filler

Good video with valid points, I think a lot of kids could do well to listen to the people or person that made this.

That said, the same points could be made about anything. For example, I play basketball every Friday night (not tonight due to snow) I train for bball monday tuesday and thursday. I go to the gym 3 or 4 days a week. I work weekends. I go to university. I have a girlfriend. I bot, and play, WoW. Do I spend too much time on any of those activities? Depends who you ask, I'm sure my gf would rather 1 skipped a training session here or there, but it's all about balance. Videogames aren't the problem. The problem is lazy kids and lazy parents. People need to take responsibility for their actions and stop looking to blame and sue everyone they can.

Keep yourself intellectually, socially, physically and, dare I say it, spiritually* healthy and you'll be set.

*I should make it clear I am an athiest, however, spiritual contentment is important to many folks. I'm content in my knowledge that there is no "spiritual realm"

Interesting take on games. Wouldn't say I agree in a theological point though. As life experience goes, its each persons choice of weighing the value of hiking a mountain vs killing a raid boss. Does doing either somehow enrich my life greater than the other? (beyond obvious physical benefits) All subjective.

If I died tomorrow, would I be heartbroken I've spent so much time playing games? Well no, I'd be dead. (Personal belief, no offense to anyone)

Having a propensity for addiction exists in alot of people, if everyone took what they enjoyed in moderation there would be alot less 'blaming' inanimate objects.
I'd blame myself, if all the items the creator listed, were cause by my decisions to play games. Games didn't make me play them.

I've been a gamer since I was 4 years old and you never stop to think "How many years of my life have I wasted playing video games?" While it's true we waste our life sleeping, Working, Doing dishes ...etc. It's just something to think about.

Well, it's a very interesting video with some nice now comparisons, but in reality we've all thought about this and *shrugged* at it while getting ready for a raid :p

Yeah, you can "waste your life" doing just about anything, the key thing here is that whatever your "wasting your life" doing, that it make/keeping you happy, for whatever reasons. Some people choose to "waster their life" going out getting drunk every other night, does this mean that they have made their lives meaningless for the years they have done it? Of course not, those people are happy with their decisions.

He obviously was unhappy with his life and the amount of time he spend gaming.. good for him that he sorted out his unhappiness.
