I'm sure a similar topic has been posted before. I have been using Honorbuddy with various bots for awhile now (questing, grinding, rep grinding, BG buddy, raid/dungeonbuddy, etc...) and have never had even one suspension (knock on wood). However, I have never messed around with the economy. I generally bot for long periods of time, sometimes 10-12 hours.

A buddy of mine has used gatherbuddy for mining, and undercutting everone else selling ore on the AH. So essentially he was screwing with the economy. Needless to say, it would be a matter of days before blizz banned his account.

This brings me to my main point. It seems as long as you are not screwing around with the in game economy, blizz really doesn't "care". If blizz REALLY wanted to find the hundreds of thousands of botters out there, they most likely could.

Irony is, there's a ban script for vendoring only but if you post on the auction house then you don't get ban.

I assume Blizz reducing the amount of GM's they have probably has something to do with it as well.

Ever heard of a thing called punctuation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punctuation)? Seriously, who is going to read your text without getting brain cancer?

It really comes down to what you're selling on AH. If you're selling like 100 stacks of GIO, then that's a red flag waving. But if you're like me that's playing around with all kind of markets (Gems, transmog, glyphs, enchants etc) then you just look like a usual seller (been selling legit for the past two years, started to use an AH just last week due to don't have time anymore) and I'm running like a free bald man.

However, the ban will come one day and I will be prepared for it.

Haha! That's exactly how I feel. I know one day it will happen.

I have kind of observed the same thing. I've been botting for about a year now, but NOT playing the economy, not selling gold or anything such, and also diversify in by botting. Questing a bit, doing some dungeondiving with my 5 man team, grinding rep for various factions etc etc.

Not even a suspension as of yet, started with ShadowBot, and switched to HB when SB got the banhammer.

I feel that most bans are related to pissing off other players. Ex: undercutting, stealing kills/mining veins, etc.

This is 90% true, they have the billions to develop an anti-cheat as powerful as god, but not 100% true.
It's not only the economy, they also ban reported botters. So if you bot and annoy other players or get noticed by them, they will ban you, too.

If you bot so that nobody sees you botting and gets annoyed by you, you're probably fine, too. I'm botting since the beginning of Cataclysm and never got banned this way. Always bulk selling and avoiding the AH, never farming more then 1 hour in one place at a time.

I think its all about gatherbuddy.

Got two accounts, one was banned after 2 weeks of gathering and ive never sold stuff/gold with this, only mailed to account #1 (main).

Main account (#1), is being botter allmost 24/7 (all bots you can think of but never gatherbuddy). And i have like 500-600 active auctions every day with it.

It goes without saying that no matter how you play the auction house as long as you're passing 100 auctions they will notice your situation. My bans happened when I passed 100 marker and it wasn't even for posting GIO, it was for posting a bunch of food mats and old enchanting stuff I've had in my guild bank from leveling my alts. I'm pretty sure one of these days they'll lower the watch posts trigger but for now I think it's set at 100, any posts you make shouldn't pass 100 or any toon if it does they'll start to monitor and if you post more they'll get the idea you're farming via bot.

ah posting only matter if you post a big amount of 1 item.. for example somebody sees you post 140 stacks of elementium, thats very suspicious. As for any ah posting there is no risk.. my main account posts aprox 700 posts a day in one char and close to 300 in another, and i don't bot on nor use mats gathered from another account or stuff like that.. 100% legit.

I think blizzard gives a shit about it. Some guildmates are reporting an AH bot for around 3 months now. In the last 2 weeks they reported him daily. I see that guy standing there every day, ruling the gem market from 8 am to 10 pm. Comparing his statistics I found out he earned about 30 000 000 gold.

He is AFK flagged all the time, does not respond on whispers, but undercuts every gem within max 5 minutes. Like I said he is doing that for month every day. And I am pretty sure, he has one or 2 other accounts that rule the enchant market and other stuff.

I can`t tell how many reports he already recieved, but I know he is a bot, because he uses the same waypoints as my AH bot.

Yep. My advise to anyone farming GIO and selling, is to find a concrete buyer that will buy as much as you can sell him. Chances are, if he's a jewlcrafter he won't care. You will drastically lower your odds.
