I am asking this question as when I came clean with my guild about my bot they all welcome me with open arms. (*Promoted me to an officer*) The thing is they don't mind for three reasons, 1. the bot ownes at tanking, 2. the bot ownes at healing & 3. the bot ownes at dps! They receive gold in the guild bank also and now a lot of them are purchasing the bot and asking me to assist them. So I was just wondering does anybody know about your bot or are you sat at your computer with a tinfoil hat on hoping Blizz wont read your brain waves and ban you? Now I know some of you are probably gonna rage this threat asking if I am insane for telling people. But it's been three weeks now and still no ban to follow?
Nope, I wouldn't tell anyone personally. Only takes one disagreement and *Pow!*, right in the kisser... It's not the people in my Guild that worry me, it's the random other people that they tell about it. Once it is out, it is out of your control.
Agreed, that's the main reason I've never told any of my guilds. I also like the fact that I'm alot richer than any of them I just monitor whispers and tell them I have no life
Yes.. An officer called me out on it and then proceeded to ask me to bot his toon for him. He's the top rated player on our server (5130 wow-heroes). LOL!
Does my tinfoil hat make me look fat? But yeah I don't tell anyone, though I got the feeling the guilds I'm in are primarily botting guilds
No, but I have my suspicions I use gather together, which shows when someone sles in your guild herbs or mines and where it is, same guys are hitting the same spots day after day G
Can't wait till all your guildies get perma-banned cause their newbs and will probably bot 24/7 , get stuck in BG walking against wall, or a hundred of other reasons. You'll be their favorite guildy now!
Since i only really use the bot for leveling and gearing my toons up through bg's, yeah, they know and dont care.
I would never tell anyone but one of my homies in my guild whispered me one night asking "Yo dude what profile are you using? Theres too many people on mine". At that point I'd only look like a dumbass trying to act like I didn't know what he was talking about. So I told him I made my own, next week he asked what bot I used in vent and I brought him here. Now he has x3 lifetime hah. If someone in your guild is botting too it isn't hard for a botter to spot one of his kind.
Sometimes I wish everyone in my guild used lazyraider and top-cc's because I often get to carry us through hard fights with my DPS (thanks gladiatore's warrior cc for that)
okay ehm I think the questions must be "who knows you bot?" because as some of us already pointed out. they would basically tell their botting - but not to everyone. I went up to my guildleader and on or two officers I trust and told them. hey I bot! and I will not use it to harm somebody. i use it for gold and leveling. they wouldnt have a prob with that cause I keep the guildbank full with items only through the stuff i farm but cant manage to sell quick enough =) Also my RL-friend knows it and hes already thinking about buying lifetime himself. on the bottom-line its not wise to tell everyone but on the other hand: if you do it intensive enough, the eagle eyes and fellow-botters wil note anyways =) edit: That would be something like easter and christmas on the same day all year long and santa only exists for me=) so many instances and raids could be done by one single person ... *dreaming*
My friends know i'm botting, some of my guild knows it too. no big deal, they provide from my bot and the bots of the other 4 members No Problems with Ore No Problems with Herbs No Problems with fishes ... They all have time to raid now and do their achievement stuff that is not related to farm anything (that's done by the bots) Some of them asked me to play with them in arena, since they'Ve seen that all my toons have full pvp gear and pvp talents, they wondered that i'm not playing any rated games ... but honestly .. i'll do that in future ... when the CCs are ready for pvp (ezRet owns in all bgs / ratedbgs)
Would have been even simpler to only have said yes As far as the topic, yes my guild knows. It's a guild of me, me, me, me, and also me.
real question would be... do you know who else is botting in the guild you are in? ill answer it for you : " more then you think! " Now you are botting yourself, im sure you know why someone spends 3 days in stv, or 2 days in zanger. Is online all day in uldum... or in twh...spends all his time in bgs.. but answers to nothing. who cares who knows what... no one..
Everybody knew and couldn't care less; my officers thanked me for providing the guild with a part of the mats I farmed. I even farmed the 10k fish achievement for the guild when cata came out.
I provide my guild with like 500 flasks over a 2 day period at times for the achievements and for raiding and I always give ore and gems to people and when someone asks in vent how I get it the GM ALWAYS says "He just spends a lot of time on it". That being said I know for a fact the GM of my guild hates exploits and wouldn't allow people in the guild to farm FL trash (Which I did anyways and gave away 2 free cleavers and 2 free caster daggers), so I am not sure if he suspects it of me or if he just doesn't care and says he hates exploits just to say it. However I normally keep my leveling toons in a level 25 guild that invites anyone and is full of noobs who sit around all day and my farmers in my Bank toons guild. Just recently a friend in the guild was saying in vent he was thinking about getting a bot and I played it really dumb and was like A bot...? And then he was telling me about it and I though about telling him I bot so he could too but he is the type of person to overdue it or to tell someone who will inevitably tell the GM.
