I have 2 battle.net accounts with separate emails. One has 4 accounts that's my main account. I am NOT botting on that account at all. The other battle.net account has 2 WoW accounts. That's the one I plan on botting on. I don't care at all for that account and if I lost it I would be fine. I plan on using gatherbuddy2 to farm mats for 1-2 hours a day about 4-6 days a week. I plan on watching the bot 95% of the time. I am on a med pop server (merged server). I am not going to multibox with the bot up. The thing is, I only have one computer. Am I still risking my main account? I understand having a second computer would be nice to only bot on, but we don't have that luxury. My husband and 2 step kids all have their WoW accounts with that main one. I would hate to have their accounts banned as well. We've talked about it and my husband says as long as his account doesn't get banned he doesn't care if I bot. Any and all opinions would be great. Thank you.
I'm botting over 4 years now also on my main account and still do it ^^ it's the way you bot that get's you banned... the more effort you put into it the less is the chance to get caught but there always remains a chance... as long as you do not bot on your main account it cannot be banned for "botting" but if you send all the stuff gathered with the bot to your main acc and sell the stuff from there it's possible to get a ban for "abuse of economy" ... if you do tons of micromanaging and not simply selling herbs/ores the chance of a ban is pretty low... my5 cents... cheers B!!!
Thank you for your reply. I have toons on that account with max alch, JC, ect. If I mailed the mats to those toons and those toons made items, then got mailed to another toon to sell on a different account would that be ok? Can that be traced?
You risk getting banned on the accounts, sharing the same computer with your bots, if you do severe harm to the wow servers, usually, if you get caught duping, selling millions of gold weekly, or similar. In all other usual cases, you are perfectly safe, as long as you dont have much interaction between your play and bot accounts, aka not feeding your main's gbank directly with the mats gained from your gather bots, if you need to do it, do it indirectly, like sending COD, not pure deposit in the gbank.
I really do want to bot, i have a few account with all different names. my main acc doesnt have the same name as my bot accounts but stil im afraid as hell to get cought and get my main acc banned! if im gona bot on my main acc im mostly just using tyrael/lazyraider. Do blizzard ban all my accounts if they ban one of them? will it be a chain reaction?
*feels the need for the obligatory statement* If you don't want an account banned don't bot on it..period As far as your question about chain reaction bans. No. I have had accounts banned while others have remained active. Saying that, other people have had all their accounts banned. Lots of unsubstantiated theories ranging from same name on account/cc to MAC addresses. As has been said many many many times no-one knows for sure. ... But again... If you don't want an account banned don't bot on it..period
Not once has my main account been suspended or banned and I've been botting since wowglider was big. My botting accounts have been banned left and right and I've botted on the same computer and home network lol.
