Well dude BG bot is very risky that is how. And you cant BG botting for that long. Imagine how many people gona report you for 4-16 hours...
I doubt you're telling the truth/remember correctly when saying that a GM told you that they checked twice and found 3rd party software. Either that or the GM is just messing with you. You obviously got caught because you got too many reports for botting, some GM watched you for a few minutes and noticed that you were cheating.
hmm, 1 post, but you're an expert on how/why people get caught botting? that isnt obviously why. if you had read some of the other posts lately about bans, you would see that lots of people are getting caught lately, running all different profiles and botbases. furthermore, i was told today that they detected 3rd party software on my account, so it isnt impossible that it occurred for someone else too.
so maybe they have a detection for honorbuddy.... 2 month ago i got a 72h suspension for reporting....now im banned lifetime... if you Bot on alterac its no problem...but if you do random....you're fucked :/
They obviously can't detect it, if they could, all botters would get banned. They look from case to case, and if they see that somebody is botting (it isn't hard, not with any bot), they "notice" manually that you're using a 3rd party program.
you use the word obviously too much. to people who actually understand economics, in the real world, as well as in wow, it isnt obvious that if they could detect HB that they would ban everyone at once. 1. there are probably over 100k active botters in wow at any given time, each with 1-3 accounts that they bot on simultaneously, some with many more that that. 2. if they banned all those accounts at once, that is roughly 1.5 million dollars PER MONTH that they lose in subscription fees, even if every botter was only running one bot account. 3. all of those botters would NOT buy new accounts, and pay the new subscription fees. 4. someone would develop a new, undetectable bot, and the process would start all over with blizz. if i was blizz, and i could detect the ONLY commercially viable botting program designed for my game, i would ban 5 percent or so per month, based on reports, economy abuse, and randomness. this way, any botters who get banned buy another copy of the game, i get my sub fees, and i get to tell my anti-bot nazi players that i am working towards a bot-free environment for them, so they dont quit due to botters "ruining" their experience. what we are trying with these posts is to see if there is a common thread that flows through the bans, to be able to try and avoid future bans. due to the lack of information blizz provides regarding bans, we are forced to guess a great deal of the time, but occasionally, we get a gm or other blizz employee that gives more info than normal, which helps us to piece things together. the whole point here, is that nothing about bans is OBVIOUS to anyone, except that eventually, nearly every account that bots GETS BANNED.
@wabu your story have logic, but Blizzard has done tht before. They was ban once if I am right over 130k acc.
