This got me thinking. was debating with a friend in regard to the recent bans, and we debated what's safe atm, and what's not.

One thing we got to think of, is the way HB/GB is managing flight movement. it's basically clicking spots in the air. try to activate click to move yourself, and click in the air the way GB2/ProffesionBuddy/Flying Questing profiles does it. Does it work? No it dosen't. you can't play with click to move and fly. It's impossible.

Ok, I don't know much about coding. I can make my own profiles in Notepad, that's it. but all tinfoilhattery aside, it would seem logical Blizzard could spot behaviour such as this if they looked into it.

I've taken numerous precautions and yet 2 of my GB2ers got banned. among those precautions:

      1. Never trade gold, only mats.
      2. No C.O.Ds
      3. No AH
      3. Frequently change profiles and only use custom.
      4. Botted alot on the first one i got banned, so fair enough. only botted 3-4h daily on the second.
      5. Used a seperate account for auctions/cods

Yet my bot got banned. They got SOME way of detecting this. 100%. It might be NPH related triggers, but alot of people can get 150-200nph legit - do the GMs really take a look at everybody reaching this sort of NPH? I doubt it.

Personally i think HBs pathing is detected, especially while flying... opinions?

Disclaimer: This purely based on personal opinion and speculation, just trying to figure out what's up with the recent bans, right now i'm running a grindbot without any sort of bans as lvl 90, but the money is pretty shit even with skinning, so i'm tempted to go back to GB2, but I simply don't dare atm after losing 2 accounts dispite precautions.

I have always been wondering, why they won't remove click to move from the game? It would upset a very small amount of people at most, and completely block honorbuddy.

I don't get the whole debate on NPH trigger. If I sat for 60 minutes in front of my pc, there is no way a bot would get more NPH than me.

As to click to move flying, I got banned for running AHbot for like 3 hours.

Actually rarely some1 can make more NPH then a bot since as soon as it detects the herb/ore on minimap it flys to it and picks it up. While players first see it, then they need to find it with their eyes, sue ghost iron ore or kyprate is easy to see but herbs can be tought bcs of the enviroment. There you lose few sec and bot goes straight to it.

You could argue the bot is losing time on being stuck in various obstacles on it's way to a node though. It sure takes it's sweet time to reach some nodes with obstacles in the way. all in all, i think you could have a similar NPH botting as you could manually, ie. NPH is worthless as a botting indicator. (imho)

Yes but try to imagine a profile without obstacles, direct route from node to node.... you can't compete with that. I have seen profiles with 500 NPH on low pop realms.

The Devs (EDIT: The Honorbuddy Devs) could easily change the code to move without CTM. CTM is just more accurate.
Actually a lot of people use CTM (Also non-botting people) as that's how you move in a lot of other games.
Blizzard can't see which kind of movement you are doing (WASD, Arrows or CTM).

CTM was detected before and the result was a massive ban, the CTM option was disabled from the "pirox" bot, honorbuddy also had an official post regarding this a few years back, especially because HB was using CTM only and the other bot called Pirox could be used without CTM on, you had the option to turn it on/off . But after a short while everything was back to normal.

Big fan of your work and appreciate your feedback on the matter.

Mind me asking, what do you recon (personally) is the reason of all the bans lately? "Just another mini-banwave" or a new server side script busting people? You can't deny there's been awefully many GB2 bans as of late.

I agree .. Apart from an occasional "Questbot" ban, so far I counted 90% being GB2 or BG botting.
Professionbuddy may be dangerous as well, but I think that's because it often combines gatherbuddy.
