That's enough proof for me. It's Singular getting people banned. I got my questers / grinders banned as well, all using Singular. I know it might seem like mumbo jumbo to you but I'm fairly sure the ban is combat-related.
I've just levelled a Druid and a Shammy from both using Singular CC over the past two weeks and no ban for me. If there is a problem with a CC, it may be class-specific? In which case knowing the class of the characters involved would be useful.
I honestly think it may have be an addon which automatically announces everytime you level up, as I left it from level 1 unattended... I'll try a second appeal and then I'll admit to botting and see what happens, the admitting to botting part is usually the final attempt otherwise I can also try the same thing own an account that got banned a few months ago but I never tried the admitting botting as sometimes they do unban. got 3 other accounts active though so, no worrys
That's good - I was thinking exactly the same thing the other day. Would be VERY easy for blizzard to create some software that just logs combat routine behaviour and as singular comes with every installation would make sense to cover them first.
I'll bite.. How in the world from what you quoted do you come up with "That's enough proof for me, It's singular getting people banned.."
I was banned while questing by hand. I took over the bot cause it was screwing up repeatedly on a rare and bam, I get dc'ed and when I tried to log back in the dreaded "locked/banned" message appeared. I didn't close HB out either when I took over, I was just planning to let go back to questing after I killed the rare.
My conclusion: If we start to see more bans in regards to Questing or bans in General, I can probably say that they've either done one or two things; 1. They've reduced the amount of player reports needed, If I had to guess based on information given to me by people who have been banned and have used my plugin (targets you and it records it)... I would put that number at 8-10... it may have gone down to 5-6, a very small amount but i'm surprised they haven't done it sooner. 2. They've combined the player reports per battle.net account instead of per character.
It's not just people Gathering / Questing / etc., people using the bot ONLY for the purpose of PvE (Tyrael / Raidbot with a routine) are also getting hit. I don't think it has to do with player reports, but rather the "process snapshot" I am reading alot about. This is quoted from another post (I believe FPSware): Code: UPDATE: Last night I called the support line and spoke to a very helpful guy at Blizard. Unfortunately he was unable to help me at the time but was able to provide some interesting information. As the guy on the phone was only able to deal with general enquiries. But what he did tell me is that it was identified as a "genuine strike". And he explained that by saying a person, not an automated system, visually observed the accounts in question using third-party software. If it had have been an automated ban he would have been able to reverse it instantly. From reading through threads for hours on end for multiple days, my educated guess is that the "process snapshot" looks for specific process names, properties or other triggers which may set off a signal which then ques the account to be monitored for activity. This is also derived from the fact that most people who were banned in the spike were banned very shortly after beginning the bot (i.e. They were close to front of the que, and once they logged on were immediately observed.) It's an "Out-There" theory, but it's my best guess. Either way blizzard has opened fire in one manner or another. Sorry to hear about your situation, Giwin. Hopefully it gets resolved in a prompt manner.
only one problem with that theory, I was running lazy raider and not automated moving an no auto dispels or interupts.
I see we have another blind follower of the bot and not someone whos interested in the truth. Look, I get that you want to defend something that you have been using for years, but I hope you are not one of those people who look at the post and then post whatever would make the bot look better while using the poster's quotes. For example "Hey guys I just got banned after only using tyreal and LazyRaider, I did use gathering one time for ten minutes 2 years ago" annoying drone from HB forums: "yea they banned you when you used gather because you left it alone for half a second and people reported you, they just decided to ban you 2 years later", I see those types of posts daily and to be honest its a little tiring to watch how each poster is gonna manipulate the posts to make HB not look detected and couldnt even entertain the remotest idea that it may be. We all know the HB devs are competent and know their program front to back. However you also have to agree that blizzard knows their game front to back and have a 10 year head start on the programming of the product and knowing its ins and outs and they are actually paid a steady salary to find things like this bot. Secondly whats to stop a blizz employee from coming on here and looking at the competition? nothing. you dont even have to sign in to look at the forums.
