So it would seem it's not only pathing that they're tracking.

      Perma ban or 72 hour?

Did it happen while you were watching and you got disconnected, did it happen while you were online but not watching (so you don't know if they did any teleport tricks/etc), or did you get the ban while you were offline?

From what you've posted I assume that you got the ban while it was fishing and while you were watching, but just trying to confirm.

      ...

If I were a bot hunter, and I saw someone fishing essentially non-stop in Dalaran for 3.5 hours, I would be reporting it.

NOTE: I am not someone who reports ... just saying things like this are ridiculously easy targets for those who do.

      ...

I'm starting to go with the hypothesis that once there is a report:

      * Blizzard investigates much quicker now

      * (and if this is a perma, not 72 hour) Blizzard may fire off additional checks for bot stuff like the injected data via hax.lua once they have a report ... things that they can't due to resources scan for easily for all players all the time.

If they said it was temporary, then yes, that should mean 72 hours. They'll say permanent and account closed otherwise.

Fishing is risky especially AFK. Someone can just walk up to you and try to talk to you and obviously you can't reply back so they report you. A GM comes and investigates (you're still afk at this point) and tries to test you and then you fail. He bans and GG. You just simply can't AFK bot these days anymore.
