This was my go to Herbing profile for many moons. I am retiring it though, so I felt I would offer it up for public consumption. I know there are already a plethora of Strom Peaks run profiles on here, but adding a little variety to your "path" never hurt anyone. Note! this path is designed for herbalists only. It may pass a few mining nodes every now and again but if you are expecting to get a lot of ore mining off this you will be dissappointed. I always mix my gathering between a dedicated miner and a dedicated herbalist to maximize my gains. Also, it allows me to use 4x32 slot gather bags There are a few places in the profile that could stand to be cleaned up, but nothing that makes the profile unusable. I AFK ran this 24/7 for 1-1/2 weeks straight once if that gives you any indication. There are a couple of nodes that need to be blacklisted. I wiped my hard drive recently so I no longer have the blacklisted nodes XML or I would have included it. One node for sure that needs blacklisting is the one that spawns underneath the frozen giant near the Hodir Questing area in Thunderfall. If you don't black list it you can occasionally get stuck beneath the statue after herbing the node and stay there for awhile. Also make sure you are at least Neutral with Hodir before running this! I cannot stress this enough. It can be done easily enough so there is no reason not to do it. Okay, enjoy. And I hope this as profitable for you as it was for me
Oops Added an image of the route. I had to guesstimate it but it should be fairly accurate. Can you recommend an easier way to get the route image, Tony?
Im just wondering why have you included those 2 places there when the bot has to travel some time to get there for just 1-2 nodes ?One spot at middle-north and other at down-right ?
Because there is generally "always" something there, since it is off the beaten path... you can go ahead and stick to the more well-trodden path if you like but chances are you will often cover three to four times that distance without ever even seeing an herb. I stand by my route. Edit: It should also be noted that the spawns shown on the map are not complete, not even close. There are several spawn points along the path that don't even show up on the map I used to show the route. But regardless, no one is going to twist your nipples. Use it or not. I don't really care.
Just wondering.. do you think it's more profitable to use this route as opposed to Sholozar basin? I found that whenever I herbed in Storm peaks that the nodes were much too far apart to be worth it. D= or maybe that was just the route I was using.
That depends on your server too if a lot of people is herbing Scholozar then SP might be better, or vice versa, theres only one way to know for sure: Give it a go
kolkilik speaks truth. Profitability depends on how farmed your server is. For me personally I prefer storm peaks because the herbs it yields are more profitable (lichbloom/icethorn) as opposed to the bulk of the Scholazar herbs (adders tongue/tiger lilly etc...) I feel like this profile does a good job of passing quite a few herb spawn points so that increses your chance at profitablity at any rate. When I ran it I was usually able to fill up 4x32 slot bags with herbs in anywhere from 5-8 hours depending on competition. And I run on a very, very busy server. Lots of farmers and lots of bots.
I like Storm peaks the best because on my server the SB herbs sell for like nothing at all or you cant even sell them. So i dont really have an option to use SB except for mining.
Mill them and make darkmoon faire cards if you have an scribe, or make and sell raiding flasks/potions if you have an alchemist. Or just sell the herb stacks to a vendor for 4g a pop and just worry about selling the frost lotus on the AH. Either way, there's money to be had.
nice route donna, used it last nite for full 8hours raked in 6 stacks of frostlotus and quite a few crystalized earths around 10 stacks of Icethorn and 15stacks of Lichbloom - GG thanks for the route. pretty leet it is. never got stuck once when afking.
To patricq and everyone else who had nice things to say; thank you for the appreciation. I'm glad you are enjoying the profile. I like to hear it.
Well, I made this for my druid so I never experienced the "falling off a cliff" and dying thing, but I bvelieve it happens because I've had it happen to my other non-druid characters on several other profiles. That has to do with the dismount protocol built;t into Gatherbuddy. Only way to truly avoid it is to make sure you blacklist all nodes on cliffs, which is very easy to do if you're interested. As for wall humping. I know there are a few spots that it can happen, but I doubt it happens for longer than a few seconds before Gatherbuddy auto-corrects the path. So, I guess, Naxxy, you should clarify what you mean by "ages?"
