I have been trying in the past year to get some kind of good connection down the road to my house. I have called many places and gotten different answers. Here are some of the ones I get. - It will be available at your house in 21 buisness days we just need to get the cable. - It is allready there you just can't get it because your house is too far up on a hill. - It is not there and never will be - The last person who owned your house didn't pay there bill and we need you to fax information over to us. Most of these responses were from comcast. - It has been 21 business days. - It is NOT here. I have asked nieghbors. - It should be as we are surounded by people with dsl less than a mile up and down the road. - The DIRT road behind our house has high speed internet. - My father built this house and I have lived here for the past 9 years. If someone could please help me on what to do that would be wonderful. Currently I am using a Verizon air-card with a usage limit of 5gigabytes. I have purchased 2 cards and I still tend to go over from time to time.
hughes net satellite internet. it's expensive and isn't nearly as good as dsl/cable, but it will work for you. latency used to be a big issue, it's not AS big any more.
So you can't just get dsl instead of cable? if you have a phone jack in your house you should beable to get dsl.
We got away from sattilite because of the terrible service. Hughes net has a 2gig limit on bandwidth and if you go over the speed gets slower and slower. By 3 gig it won't even make a connection.
what needs to happen is you need to be an asshole to them and tell them to get their heads out of their asses and send a tech over
Just called comcast and they have someone coming over to see if they can get it here. I am to call back in 5 days. Called verizon and got a guy with an attitude who said that playing WoW on dsl would go over their 300gig limit . Checked att before with no success.
They're lieing out of their asses I have a 100gb limit and I play 5 accts 24/7 and im getting 10 more. I get up to maybe 50GB including surfing the web, updating these boards every 10 seconds (joke), downloading wow, downloading movies and tv shows (5 GB a week or more) and listening to music online
Check out Clear (CLEAR | High Speed Mobile 4G Wireless Internet Service with WiMAX). No bandwidth limit, and if you've got 4g in your area you're all set. If not, 3g works just as well. No contract, no cancellation fee.
I have 3g available in my area however if you look in the forums everyone is upset with their service and they are currently being sued for false advertising
