Hey guys i have had an issue all day with running "Questing" and having general issues with HB, i am currently experiencing an Error that says "Error trying to save the setting file: The file exists.", and am unsure on how to fix this or maybe it occurred when the last update happened. Yeah both are running in admin, it really weird cause it was running smooth before the update about 2 days ago, and I have done a fresh install also.
you need to check your anti-virus application or some other application isnt blocking access to honorbuddy files.
I have tripple checked all of the settings with anything that could be causing it to become a problem and nothing has changed, i have also noticed that it does not load straight away and comes up with the same error message before anything even initiates i have tried several toons and different in game bots ie; Lazy Raider, Questing along with various others, they all seem to have "Lag when opening or even loading another profile.
the other people having this issue say that have fixed it by reinstalling windows that something was going on with their machines. its not normal for honorbuddy not to be able to write settings folders out.
yeah i know that, that is why i said it only happened after the last Update about 2 days ago, everything was fine until then, i have had no issues with it before so i know its not Windows, im going to try another fresh install and to clear all settings i have of HB and see how that goes, if i have any more issues then ill reply again and also upload the new log.
View attachment 9044 2015-03-03 19.35.txt This is after i have done a complete fresh install of HB, The program is very slugish when running. I am currently running Lazy Raider and it very slow to respond to anything, and when it loads from scratch it always takes a couple of minutes to load, as i said before, nothing on my computer has changed, no settings, file locations or programs, its like it just started playing up, it is the first time in 4 years i have ever had a problem with it.
The problem is one of these three things: A permissions problem (which you have ruled out) An interfering program, including virus or Anti-Virus A bad installation. From the message, it appears that .../Honorbuddy/Settings exists on your system, but it is probably a file or symbolic link or somesuch instead of a directory as is needed. Let's start by doing a 'clean install' as outlined in this article: Honorbuddy:HelpDesk:"Clean installing" Honorbuddy If no joy, then our next step is to look for programs that are interfering with the clean install: BosslandGmbH:HelpDeskrograms that Interfere with BosslandGmbH Products If it still doesn't work, please attach a fresh log from the clean install, so we can see if the failure mode has changed.
