How many gathering professions do you guys bot with? Two? One? Which allows for smoother botting and/or better profits? Having two gathering professions messes up bag slots and makes it really hard to organize but on the other hand, it probably yields more profit. Having one profession allows for a crafting profession that can probably boost profits even though it doesn't gather. Which pair of professions do you guys use?
Using Herb/Mining on one char and JC/Ench on another. Prospecting everything I can and use the eternal earth to make rings wich I disenchant and sell infinite dust And I just sells the herbs as they are, as its high demand on them and goes for about 20-30 G stack.
I bot Herb/Mining, I usually never get any other professions as far ash like Tailoring, Enchanting, Engineering, etc.
I imagine it would make sense to have a bot that has both mining/herbing on the same toon for easier farming and then other profs on another toon i did this on my US account and it worked fine.
Yeah would be a pretty solid way to do it, probably make more money that way too, depending what professions you get on your none farming toon.
yeah well like you can also while lvling just spend a day with your gatherer getting herbs. I mostly bought them though becuase it was easier/faster to farm northerend herbs and mines and then sell them and then buy the lowbie herbs then it was to do it the other way around.
currently leveling a pre BC account to make a level 60 twink on(main/botting account go suspended, but not because of hack/bot/3rd party, just because Blizz is a Beech) and I've got to say, it's not too bad making money without farming. I rerolled with my friend, RAF. got a couple silver and linen/meat/herbs/leather from leveling 1-8ish. sent the silver and trade goods to may bank alt. sold those, scanned the AH for about 3days and in less than 1hour of being on my bank alt, have gone from 10s and a hand full of nub trade goods to 50g. I've also been doing this on anther server, both H and A, because my friend can't make up his mind and went from 0-1k and 500-4k all in around a week. so it's not bad once you get some Auctioneer scans under your belt and a good snatch list
Herbalism/Mining with a crafting alt seems to be a good idea. Does selling herbs as they are and having the mined materials to be used with jewelcrafting and disenchanting gives good profit? How about blacksmithing and enchanting? They're a better combo for PVP if I ever decide to use the crafting toon for that.
For the people who use two gathering professions, what do you do with the materials? Sell them as they are or craft them first on another toon?
I prefer mining. On my realm the market is more stable for mined goods (mostly eternal fire and titanium) and I have a sure income from saronite bars. Plus with herbalism you end up with so many god damn herbs its hard to sell them unless you sell in bulk or mill them. Also for my realm the prices on herbs other than frost lotus are pretty poor so I just end up spending my time trying to manage (in terms of inventory) and sell all the cheap herbs.
I have one farmer solo mining with 4 mining 32 slot bags and another farmer with 4 herbing 32 slot bags. I find that if I have one mine and one herb they can run the same profile and not compete with each other for nodes. So I feel i get more. I will try and run both on same profile and both doing herb/mining and compare total nodes for 1 night to see which is better.
I only have 2 gathering professions so I sell all my herbs / ore, and I make a pretty good profit as they are, I make good money in Lichbloom, and Eternals on my realm.
I use to have 3 farming accounts, each had a character with mining/herb. However, my server is HEAVILY populated by regular farmers and botters so people get reported left and right. Lost all 3 of my farming accounts over the past few months. I've recently found a few nice farming profiles that involve no resource gathering to use and I make the same if not more gold that using gatherbuddy. Not bashing gatherbuddy whatsoever, but to get the ore/herbs needed to make a lot of gold, most likely you'll be reported. I mean come on, how many of us actually AREN'T AFK when we use gatherbuddy/honorbuddy. So now I have just 1 account farming at the moment, making roughly 10-15k a day. Need another week to average out the gold earned a day to see if it's fiscally viable to open up another account to start farming as well.
Herb/Mining here. Selling the herbs, smelting the ores into bars and selling on the AH. Although the price of saronite ore/bars has dropped so much on my server that I make more money just vendoring them for 1g25s each than I can trying to AH them.
Easy to keep bags tidy use plugin Tidybags, and Genie on your banker alt after he opens the mail, it stacks and sorts all your bags in order for easy ah selling.
I got mining on one of my toons and than herbing on another toon and im using my main account as my bot account lol
