Yes, anything that's in the backpack (your original starting pack when you're level one, and it looks like a backpack) will not get touched by GB. Move everything to pack one and store any overflow in your bank. I figured this out the hard way and with advice from Tony and Kick.
if you want, there is an addon called Bankstack that I use. you can ignore slots... ie: 0 1 0 2 0 3 0 = bag number (0 = backpack) 1, 2, 3 = slot number. so bag 0, slot 1 ignores my hearthstone, and 0 2 ignores my pick or you can just stick all of your stuff in the bank
