Guess you right clicked - open as {notepad} then selected "alway open with this program" or something like that?
It shouldnt be a problem.. the profiles should work anyways. Its still .xml-files.

It doesn't matter what you open it with, you can open with with Wordpad for all you care, it will still work.

As long as it's xxx.xml it WILL work, what you did is just select the default program to open it with :)

and to change it back simply right click the file again and instead of "open" click on "open with" and then uncheck the "always bla"

i think that the problem is files extensions
      follow this
      1. Open a folder or open explorer
      2. Click the Layout button (to the left of the Views button) as shown in the picture below [IMG]
      3. Click Folder Options
      4. Click the View tab
      5. Uncheck Hide extensions for known file types
      6. Click OK

Open the xml in notepad. Go to save as. then save the file as, for example, "example.xml" and set file type as all files. the will guaranteed save it as an xml as opposed to it being some crazy file type. (usually the quoates are only required if you keep the standard txt file type, and aren't necessary when you change to all types, but try it anyways for good measure)
