https://www.schneier.com/blog/archives/2005/10/blizzard_entert.html I wonder why you are not include in honorbuddy a mask program that changes the name of the window and the process??Before using honorbuddy I was using pirox..that bot, whenever I run it it asked me to change the name of the process and was doing this automatically. Extra safety is not bad...why don't you provide honorbuddy with a mask tool? And in any case, how can I do that myself?
I ve seen this article in a recent post in buddyforums and since the 6 month banwave, why not take every safety measure? Why should I have a process and a window say "Honorbuddy"? Is like going with a kilo of heroine in front of a police camera and say "no worrie, it is illegal to spy people from this camera, so most probably is turned off"....why not just hide the drugs?
Also, https://www.thebuddyforum.com/honor...ame-hb-process-manager.html?highlight=process and This has been asked and disputed over the years, in short, it doesn't matter
What I see on those posts is some users ask for renaming the window, some other smartass users say their clever things without proving actually anything and a dev answering by asking a log (lol?)... No one can or did guarantee that Blizzard cannot scan your processes even if this is not "legal"... So the question remains, and now is more important since honorbuddy got detected and no one knows why it got detected...even people who used it just for rotations got banned..so where are all the clever guys from the posts you linked now to tell us that we are paranoic and that blizzard cannot and not scan ram/processes? like this post for example: you know what? yes we all got banned within hours...so chillpill does not help..what helps is every bit of extra security
Ah, you think Blizz would take the risk of doing something they've been warned no to do... You think they'd take the risk of not being able to do any business in Europe anymore.... Just to catch some botters? You want security? Don't bot! As far as the window title is concerned: The proof is in the fact that we've only had 1 real banwave in years. If the window title or executable name had anything to do with it, NO ONE using HB would still have an account.
