Just got a new computer. Trying to install honorbuddy. Getting a setup failed message. I tried downloading the zip file and running it, and getting an "Authentication failed" message. Here is my log. I appreciate any help you can give me. I made sure it was running in 32 bit mode. 0x80070490 Element Not found during installation. When I run the honor buddy launcher, honor buddy crashes immediately upon WoW starting. When I run Honor Buddy with WoW started, I get the authentication failed message. I've been seeing some other people mention they have been getting authentication failed, but where it won't install honor buddy either, I'm not sure if I am experiencing everyone elses problem or if it is something with the new computer. Thanks again. View attachment installlog.txt
remove: - microsoft .net framework 4 client profile - microsoft .net framework 4 extended - microsoft visual c++ 2010 x86 redistributable - microsoft visual c++ 2012 x86 redistributable restart your pc, download the installationwizard https://www.thebuddyforum.com/attach...uddywizard-zip run them as administrator. after wizard installation is done, run windows update. And install all updates for .net & c++ restart
I removed microsoft visual C++ 2010 and 2012 x86. i did not see the microsoft .net framework 4 client profile or 4 extended on my list of items to remove. Can you give me a little help on how to remove them? I restarted and tried installing after the C++'s were removed but got an error again, so I assume its from the framework you mentioned. I also see listed Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 and 2012 in the x64 version, and a Microsoft 2005 C++ Redistributable. Should I remove them as well? I noticed the installer trying to install C++ 2013. Once again, thanks for any help.
Go to Programs and Features, in your windows Control panel. Look for: - microsoft .net framework 4 client profile - microsoft .net framework 4 extended - microsoft .net framework 4.5.x - microsoft visual c++ 2010 x86 redistributable - microsoft visual c++ 2012 x86 redistributable and Uninstall them if they are installed. Restart your PC. install this https://www.thebuddyforum.com/relea...-dependency-wizard-post704565.html#post704565 and this Download Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.1 (Web Installer) for Windows Vista SP2, Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8, Windows Server 2008 SP2 Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 and Windows Server 2012 from Official Microsoft Download Center run both as administrator. after the both installs are completed, run windows update. And install all updates for .net & c++ Then do one last restart.
In my programs and features, there is no .net framework listed. I removed the two 2010 and 2012 C++ x86 files, and the only things with Microsoft in the name left are: Microsoft C++ 2005 Redistributable Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x64 redistributable Microsoft C++ 2012 x64 Redistributable I can not located anything with Microsoft .net in it's name. I am getting ready to attempt to install that program, hopefully that will help. I will mention the results momentarily. When trying to use the Buddy Wizard, it said, ".NET 4.5.1 was already installed." But I do not see it in the programs and features list in my control panel if that is the microsoft .net you spoke of. I did find a box that lets me turn windows features on/off. in that box, it mentions: .NET FRAMEWORK 4.5 Advanced Series and .NET FRAMEWORK 3.5 (Includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0) But there is not an option to remove them, just turn them on or off.
Well I never got the installer to work. All I removed were the x86 C++ items. I just attempted to run the zipped version of honorbuddy and it updated and let me login. So it seems to be working. Never could find the .net framework to remove. I guess the x86 stuff gets in the way? I don't really need it for anything else on my computer? Thanks for the help though. I will let you know if I encounter anymore problems.
