I use to use lazy-bot and it would use a mouse hook if it wasn't the highlighted process on your pc. It would use my mouse to click nodes and stuff but when I bot with this it doesn't ever seem to use my mouse. I was told that using a mouse hook was like a server injection and was more likely to get you caught. Does the same principle apply here or can I do other things while my bot plays me?

Botting is never safe: ) I bot 24/7(on EU) while not being near the computer for the main part of that time - seems to be working fine for me ^^
And yes, you can do other stuff while botting. You can minimize the HonorBuddy program, but wow needs to be open - it does, however, not require it to be the active window.

If i'm botting on my own computer, i usually run wow and Garry's Mod simultaneously :)

No u cant minimize it. Warden can detect it your char is running round playing the gam while wow is minimized, HB protects you and doesnt let u minimize.

in other words, you cant fo your own safety

      wrong.
you cant minimize it because when its minimised to your taskbar, WoW isnt rendering any frames out, if the game isnt being rendered, we (honorbuddy) cant inject and interface with wow. warden cant detect it, (not that it matters) honorbuddy just wont run while wow is minimized, just plain and simple.

we dont use keyboard and mouse hooks because theres no need, we can interact with objects and move around, just because we're able to hook wow's api, and in the api you can do whatever you want.

Lazy-Raider, is by design ment that YOU control everything thats going on EXCEPT combat. so as long as your CC is NOT a lazy raider CC and your running something like Questing Or PVP, or Gatherbuddy, or anything Besides lazy raider, the bot wont require your input (for the most part)

Well, I didn't really mean minimized. I just meant that it isn't necessary that WoW always be the active window. Like me browsing reddit while WoW plays behind it, but thanks for the info guys. Much appreciated.

The only thing that you can't do is play DirectX games on full-screen while botting (Dx9 at least, 10+ doubtful) But as long as you play on windowed it will work.
