I read on the forums that it was a bad idea to use bots that would run while minimized because Warden can detect that (Pirox was able to run minimized). But is there any risk to running bots & hitting the power button on my monitor so it doesn't light up the room all night? Also, does anyone know if turning off the monitor will cause problems with Arelog?
The monitor just displays the picture, so no. It will make zero difference with monitor off as it just means u cant see it
I do this nightly, get it going turn off monitor find something to cover up my deathadder and switch my g110 to pink so i dont have lights going its definately safe
I only turn the monitor off If I bot over night, which is never now, but yeah, It doesn't make a difference, I just personally prefer to on, in the case of emergencies and what not..
Be nice, not everyone is born computer savvy Now everyone says its "completely safe" Well it is possible to detect the power state of your monitor with the WinAPI. So Blizzard in theory could release a patch to detect players moving around and playing with their monitor off. I don't see this ever being done, but it's possible.
My bots without ARelog never seems to work for more that a couple of hours with the monitor off. I am sure its just a coincidence but still.
it's safe to turn off the monitor but i just let my monitors turn themselves off after 5 mins anyways (the system doesn't sleep, just the monitors)
This, i have had the same problem since i bought the bot. It just works better with the monitor on, i'm botting almost night so i might aswell do a test and see if it really makes a difference. Yeah i know it all could be a coincidence because i can't test it a proper amount of times but still..
Probably a coincidence. Honorbuddy doesn't care about your monitor, just the VGA output and what's in your memory. Check your plugins, too. It may be some plugin kicking in doing stupid stuff when you are not babysitting the bot. Like Stuck Helper which is totally incompatible with AutoAngler or LazyRaider because if you stay in one place for too long it will decide you are stuck and start jumping around randomly. Can Warden scan outside of WoW and detect if WoW is running in the background or minimized, or if the monitor is off and the mouse and KBD are asleep, but your toon is doing stuff ? Yes, as a matter of fact it used to do this, but there was huge outrage, because everyone was afraid what else Warden was also checking or what it would start checking in the future and Blizzard were forced at the end to limit Warden's scans to WoW only on the grounds of violations of privacy. TL;DR - we are safe. For now.
