I'm planning on mining around about 3 hours a day in Uldum, its it worth it?
What is the chance of getting banned?
Any tips or trick on avoiding a ban?
If I do get banned, what should I write for an appeal?
      Thank you.

I've been mining in uldum for months I am the only person I ever see there as well. I don't use a public profile tho I made my own. I haven't been banned or even whispered besides the constant join my guild scam

I personally wouldn't. But if you do, you should never AFK bot and you should never do it for an extended period.

Personally i love the place great views and awesome amounts of Mats, 1 of my accounts was banned here? funny thing is i was very social in a popular guild, most said i was almost annyoing talked to much, but after losing that account i bought three more, i bot on the same server i now bot 3 toons at the same time in ULDUM i have to much mats, in 1-2 days i have my mailbox full of atleast 300-400 boxes of loot to inventory, its to much but you know its all on chance,

personally i think its player reports, not scripts or GM's looking at you after X amount of hours there...

I'd say you must be very careful with Uldum.

      1. Get a Private profile. Not so hard to make.
      2. Supervise your bot. Make sure under no circumstances it will do anything silly.
      3. Don't annoy players. Don't ninja nodes, and certainly avoid "AH wars". Post at the same price your competitors do, otherwise you are devaluing everyone's work and will pull insane aggro, enough for someone to file a fake report and get you banned.

It's funny, a few days ago I went to school and left my bot running on Zuabros' Uldum Mining 3.1 and well, when I came back home there was a "train" of three people, including me. It was fun to watch. But yeah, after that I started botting only at night time.

For my particular server, it's more efficient as a paladin to use Zuabro's (I think it's him) Vash'jr profile. It's more GPH, there's a chance for posiedus, and that gnome. (LOL i've gotten his hat like 40 times, I feel like a dick for killing him so much, but it makes it even more rare ^.-) I came back one night to seeing a message calling me a dick. I guess he saw I killed him. "Your such a dick, I've been camping this guy for at least 6 days now." - Annon.

      another uldum thread.

its as safe as anything else.

dont let someone tell you its bot central, you get banned while being there and all that shit.

every place can be like that, and uldum aint more dangerous then other areas.

realy, despite what everyone says, its most deffo not!

still botting there, sometimes an hour, sometimes 8

People saying that Uldum gets you banned don't know what they are talking about.

You have the same chance of getting banned in Uldum and in Mount Hyjal, it depends on if people see you and if they report you.

Also, of course, the time you bot always on the same route.

      imo.
botting in uldum is just as safe as anything else, ive botted there since Cata came out..
(ive now moved to pets due to the current value of the stuff you can get in uldum being that low..)
but never banned, nor warnings recived..

you could be botting 20 hours in uldum, and don't get a ban..
but you could bot for 1 hour in twilight highlands or any other place on the map.. and be banned ;P

      everything is RNG! :p

Never ! Use public profiles in uldum on a mid/high pop server, because there are other botters and human farmers.

With recent prices I would stay out of uldum.

The problem is when someone used to use the bot and got banned or got tired of botting, they know the paths, quirks, and distinguishing marks of that public profile. When they see your character cut the same corner that their botted character used to cut everytime he ran that public profile, the ex-botter knows you are botting. He may be jealous that you are getting away with it since he got caught. He may be tempted to either report you or to rat you out in public chat channel. So, using a public profile is a bad idea in a very populated area. I got banned using glider and it used to bug the crap out of me when I saw people still botting. I never turned anyone in, but I was very tempted. I have definitely seen people in public chat ratting out botters and saying, "I know that profile path." In my opinion, it is a bad idea to use a public profile in Ulduum when anyone has been banned using that same profile. Former botters will probably rat you out.

There are millions of people playing WoW
      US Realm Pop

Blizzard does not have the time/money/employees to spend all day watching Uldum with scripts and responding or looking into every ticket they receive about a botter. Consider that they probably get over 500k+ tickets in any given week. Do they even read them all? probably not. To think that they even give a shit in the first place is stretching it. They know that botters will always be apart of online gaming. Have you forgotten about Diablo II? That game had items hacked into it regularly. If any gaming company knows about cheats/bots/hacks it is Blizzard. It will never end, they know this, and the idea is to use scare tactics to prevent more botting, not eliminate current botters.

If you honestly believe that botting certain areas increase your chance of ban, you are crazy. What increases your chance of bans is being online a lot and botting around other people. It doesn't matter where you are. I have had my own guild tag me as a bot just for being online days in a row without talking to anyone. I was there playing, and afking regularly but doing heroics and BGs, only botting 3-4 hours a night, in different zones gathering different mats. Just the fact that I was online for so long aroused suspicion. You see, it doesn't matter where you are or what you are doing all that matters is other people noticing you.. Notice you doing something specific? no. Notice you. Period. What you are doing is irrelevant to the fact that you are online nearly 24/7, but only bot 4 hours a night. You could bot 20 hours/day and it'd be the exact same thing. You are being noticed.

      Common sense:
Join a small, chill and active guild that has a regular weekly schedule. Tag along in a 25 man maybe once a week.
Stay away from the 500+ member L25 guilds that allow anyone to invite anyone. You will~ be ratted out and reported by at least one person. I promise.
Do BGs and heroics every now and then to keep yourself looking like a progression player.
MAKE FRIENDS! Once again, make chill, laid back friends. These kinds of relationships can take a couple weeks to develop, but if you can meet a few good people to throw on your friends list and contact regularly, your account will look normal.
Randomize hot spots? YES. But don't stop there if you're seriously paranoid make your own profile for your regular farming zones...

Personally, I don't think it matters what profile you use. In the end, botting is botting and all of it is obvious.. yes all of it. Going down 1 road or the other doesn't make you look like any less of a botter. Seriously. Even someone using the same profile as you is not going to end up on the same nodes as you are.. so it doesn't really matter. It's not like a xerox copy or something. The bot flys around and gathers nodes within range if it detects it... The path you took to get to where you are doesn't matter in the slightest because the bot will fly wherever it needs to gather said node.
