Now with all these bans going on do you think that it may be possible that Blizz is taking a play from the the books of other anticheat software companies (Valve and punkbuster) to say they only scan the memory that their software uses but actually scan everything. Now Ive noticed that in task manager if they were to run a scan of running processes for everyone it clearly shows up Honorbuddy and the description Honorbuddy. This next portion is for the dev's If I use *insert random software name here* and change version info to reflect that of notepad.exe from Microsoft and actually make the process show up as notepad.exe *32 with a description of notepad or any other process (firefox.exe *32, explorer.exe) for that matter would this possibly be safer than leaving it at Honorbuddy? I do think that it would break the version check and auto update but from a standpoint of process checking it got me thinking after translating this from German to English. Just a thought let me know.
People have being banned changing even the process name using an HEX Editor for what I read these days here...
