Generally I just use HB, but have been dogging around BW for awhile. I really would like to use it, but am unsure of what it could do for me. I've read that it doesn't support warzones, spacemissions are apparently dead bugs, and questing only extends to a certain point. If I were to start up my second acc, could that little bugger follow me and heal me, or dps with me lazyraider style with me accepting quests personally? Or is that just not gonna happen? I don't expect the bot to be superman, I just would like to know what I could expect from it. And this is all because, I admit, no matter its faults I still enjoy SWTOR.
Hi, Phay, I wish I could answer your questions authoritatively, but have yet to multi-box SWtOR. DPSing... I know the WingIt CC will competently participate in a party--Ama has taken WingIt into flashpoints, but I don't know how he was using it. (E.g., Lazyraider style, or just letting the bot do all the work). Last I checked, if any party member gets into combat, then BW throws the bot into combat, and WingIt is off-and-away at that point. So DPS/healing assistance you should already have. Following... As far as the bot following a group member, that's not built into WingIt. That responsibility belongs to the bot-proper or a plugin. I do not know if the bot-proper will follow the party leader automatically. To my knowledge, there is no plugin that auto-follows the leader. It should be easy to hack it into WingIt as part of the _ooc hook (in WingIt.cs)--although that functionality really doesn't belong in the combat CC. Healing... WingIt supports healing party members in all classes/specs. If the toon is healing spec, healing is very high priority, and it will DPS only when the group is taking little damage. If a healing toon is not specced for healing, priority is given to DPS, and the toon will heal only when the group is in dire straits. WingIt assumes a non-healingspec healer is for off-heal or emergencies only. Such situations may result in a party wipe as "too little, too late". The DefaultCombat CC misses some healing support for certain classes/specs. Also, it usually limits its healing activities to companion/self, and not the whole party. So choice of CC may make a significant difference for you here. All that is stated above is what is supposed to happen. As to whether or not it does, I cannot say because I haven't explicitly tested it. I can tell you that the bot won't automatically pick up the quests that you do, and it won't accept them if you share them. I cannot speak to Warzones or the current state of the spacebot. From other posts in the forum, it seems that those that use the space bot tend to get banned a lot. Whether that's because of a detectable server-side 'bot fingerprint', or the fact that people abused it (it's so good that people just turn it on 24/7, and walk away from it)--can't say, either. If you do choose to pursue your query, I'd love to know your findings. There may be others that have multi-boxxed SWtOR that can contribute. Sorry, I couldn't provide more meaningful info for you. cheers, chinajade
No actually you were very helpful thanks! I tried it out this morning on my 45 marauder, and it did really well. I had to assist with some quests, but no more troublesome than with HB. I ran lazyraider style in a few war zones, it did exceptional with me steering, as well as in the flash points I tried. WingIt was a little gungho every once in awhile, but I never died. When I started up my second account I didn't want to attempt the code yet, so I just made a simple macro to tap for my bot to follow and heal me in a flashpoint, worked well enough that no one complained. For questing I decided to be the lazy one, I set the bot to quest and I just followed along assisting in kills, worked just as well. With me assisting a few times in quests. You were right that the default CC didn't want to heal more than itself and companion, but WingIt did great. Space missions I don't care about, I just think their boring anyway. The only real issue I had was with Autoequip constantly trying to equip something on my companion, never could please it, and turning it off corrected the issue. And a small random issue of the bot not mounting. The only other thing I could maybe want would be Warzone support, like BGBuddy. Either way, I was pretty happy with the bot, it's slower acting than the HB I'm used too, but it did everything I wanted it too.
