I heard dell made a really tough laptop etc, so i looked it up: Rugged Laptops And it says on that page that Wtf? A Laptop that can take a bullet? Anyone that can confirm/destroy this myth? EDIT: Holy shit, base price: $3800
I don't know why, but its great for construction sites and stuff like that where shit like hammers get thrown / dropped, nails and other stuff is laying everywhere. But yes, you don't want a flimsy laptop in the middle of a work job
The military uses Panasonic Toughbooks. They are pretty unreal. When you drop it from 6 feet with the lid open and it just bounces and nothing breaks, its a good feeling Im not sure if they can take a bullet, but im sure its the closest thing that your going to get.
We have some of those type of laptops here at my work. They are used in the Campus Police Cars, they are heavy as hell.
They tested this myth in mythbusters, and actualy a shot with shotgun aimed to the battery couldn't past trought it, so with some luck, "normal" laptop can stop it, if it hits to the battery. But I guess more powerful gun can pierce trought it pritty easily.
