It was permabanned in early 2012. After 2+ years of "negotiation," Blizzard finally unbanned my account today. I didn't write anything fancy. I wrote something along the lines of "My account was hacked and I didn't bot. You don't have my computer so you don't know that I wasn't hacked. Is punishing loyal customers one of Blizzard's policies?" At first of course they said they are sorry for banning but they made no mistake blah blah blah and refused to unban (you know the drill), but I've been copy-and-pasting that message and sending it to them for 2 years. Whatever they said, I just replied with the exact same message. If they closed my ticket I opened a new one and pasted the same message. If they said they won't reply anymore I let the ticket expire and opened a new one (again, with the same message). Have you ever talked to people who just cover their ears and keep saying the same thing until they break you and force you to agree? It's like that, and I broke Blizzard. Sadly, things have changed so much that I probably won't play my account anyway (it's my main), but I thought I might share how I got my account unbanned (it may take you 2 years, lol). Perseverance is key.
they probably felt sorry for you and gave it back on that purpose alone, if investigated then it would be taken away from you as they're not usually allowed to do that.
holy shit I wonder if I can get my 2 old accounts back that were banned and both gold capped I could use that money now lmao
I was trying something similar, ended with them sending a mail saying one more ticket about the concern, and they would perma ban my whole battle.net. That was after about 4 months of nagging.
Nice! Did they cancel or delete any tickets, because that's what they did for me after the 'final review' answer? How many tickets have you sent over the 2 years?
