Cancelling payment through your cc company is the best thing to do. Just tell them you made payment for a service that wasn't delivered and they'll issue a refund pretty much immediately. I've never had an issue with this, and in fact I prefer to straight up use my credit card where possible for online purchases simply because my bank protects my ass from shit like this. I call my bank, tell them I got scammed, bank refunds my money and adds the dodgy company to a watch list - or if there's history of a company doing shit like this already, add them to a blacklist (so no one can buy shit from them using credit cards from this bank ever again). Paypal would just tell me so sad, too bad. So fuck paypal for protecting my interests with digital/virtual purchases - I'll only use it when I trust the other party.
