So the Buddy Forum is getting a lot of traffic lately, specifically because of a MMO that has an overwhelming presence of bots. I frequent reddit a lot, and this specific MMO has people browsing the forums, taking screenshots of conversations here on the Buddy Forums, and sharing that information with the world. After seeing these screen shots on a subreddit with 100k+ subscribers, (the top thread for the past three days) - I feel like I now have no reason to contribute ever to this community, simply because there's people frequenting our forums, capturing what is said. I just logged out, and I still have full access to all the sub-forums for the bots. Please consider protecting the privacy of those who actually purchase the software and limit the access of the bot forums to those who have purchased. Instead of kicking the public out fully, consider creating a forum for the public for each bot - and allow non-subscribers to ask pre-sales questions there. Fully opening up the forums to the public is just asking for trouble.
average joes would read the posts and get the idea of how bots operate this would allow them to detect bots in game and report
Exctly ... for example newest bot ArhcAge buddy ... if you read closely you would notice that questing plug in 1-30 is not capable of using mounts ... so any char thats running around without riding his mount is a botter #factNr1 So any potential leecher could report 100s of bots just by knowing this simple info ... I am all in for locking down forums.
anyone can register an acc here and read the forums we are not gonna lock forums for non customers, has been discussed many times already
This encourages people to keep their creations and contributions private. Thanks for explaining BuddyAuth's stance on it.
