Hey guys, usually I don't want to bot my other acc's meanwhile i manually play my main... because I am afraid that warden will detect my main as using a bot (since the .exe is open on my pc) however, i would like to know, if any1 KNEW that this WILL increase the chance, that my main will get banned? And i would like you guys to Vote IF u do manually play your main while botting ur other acc(s) =) cheers!
I run two farmers, and 2 levellers most of the time. On my main im either playing or botting pvp at the same time as that. Im either lucky or its fine !
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think warden will check the memory space of another process besides its own even if its another wow process, unless there's one instance of warden regardless of how many wow clients are open I never checked. We are unsure if it looks at the list of running processes but if you're worried about that could always rename the honorbuddy.exe I have been botting while playing my main, theres always a risk regardless if warden detects HB/GB or not. There has been bans on Main accounts that have not assisted the bot accounts in anyway but have been played on same computer.
You may or may not get banned. In case of Warden detections, I've heard that sometimes the main account gets banned, and sometimes it does not. I don't think anyone knows the real answer. At the moment, I play my main account while I have a farmer account going because I'm not that paranoid.
I've played my main whilst running 2 x HB's, but as to whether or not this makes a ban more likely, I've no idea... I do also suffer from the TinFoil Hat Syndrome and worry that Warden will scan the other open processes, but if it's going to happen it will happen so not much point stressing about it too much. Just don't get attached to your bots (I wouldn't have named them if i didn't have to >.<) so when they do get banned (and they will), it's just a case of starting over with new keys, mac and ip (damn those tinfoil hats are hard to get off!)
I levelbot/BG bot my other (read my wife's) account while playing my main. Sometimes teaming up with the bot and put it in RaF mode, abusing toons for bot Healing in dungeons etc. Most of the time it's running though while I play my own, raid my own, dungeon my own, BG my own. So in general always
I bot with my main since i am poor and cant afford another account and the monthlly lol but if their is a warden check and you get caught usually all the accounts liked via last name or even IP address could be banned. I have heard such a thing.
i had 3x GB running, along with playing my main and when I sold some gold... they all got linked and main was also banned =( pretty sure they do IP check and look for reasons to ban every account from the same IP.
I got an battle.net account with multiple accounts on, and i've been running gb and hb on many of those, but i'm running one account by hand. That has never been affected with anything.
On my beginnings I was scared about getting my main banned, but now I don't really care. All I have with my main (except some pets and cramp) is stuff that I can get over and over again. So who cares about getting banished. It's only a metter of time, and this time will now be a way smaller because I know much more about wow now. So I run my main and bot also or bot my main too
I don't play my main anymore but from what I've gathered, Warden isn't usually the issue. If blizzard suspects you of botting and a GM manually investigates the matter and notices multiple accounts running off the same IP or same MAC address then any one of those accounts is fair game for suspensions or bans even if a bot has never been used on one or more of the accounts.
I also used to be worried about this. If blizzard logs your IP address and bans that way, then heck, even if you logged on your main without the bot there is a chance of getting screwed. What i do, is have 2 seperate WoW folders, one for my main account which does not get botted on, and one for my other accounts which do get botted on. This way if blizzard checks the logs or anything else going on, at least i feel like there is some security knowing that at least log wise, my main account has not been touched by the bot. I personally dont believe that blizzard bans via IP though, simply because there are households where an entire family would and will play. I could be dead wrong, but i have been banned over multiple accounts and by brother has never been affected. And yes if you have multiple accounts linked via Bnet, the Bnet account gets banned not the individual account in question.
i bot 3 accounts and play my main all at the same time, been doing that for the past 3 years no bans yet
This is not 100% true. I have had a detection of 3rd part software ban (i wont say what I was running) but only the account that had been active and using the software got slapped. The other accounts on the same B-net were left alone. It could be because it was a automated detection vs a GM investigation. However I did dispute it. It did get investigated and still the other account remains untouched.
