Nope 9)Was your account involved in gold selling? I bought 500g 2 days ago I am wondering whether you guys think it is safe to bot on the account again after the suspension is lifted. Has anyone done this before and if so what happened...?
Account Action: 72 Hour Suspension Reason for Action: Terms of Use Violation -- Exploitative Activity: Use of Third Party Automation Software This suspension happened because one or more characters on this account were identified using an unauthorized cheat program, also known as a ""hack."". These programs provide character benefits normally not achievable in the World of Warcraft. Such benefits include, but are not limited to, increased speed, teleportation, or running through walls/boundaries. Use of these unauthorized programs harm the game environment because they offer an unfair advantage over other players and superscede the intended limits of the game. Even if this behavior is the result of a third party accessing the account instead of the registered user (for example, a friend, family member, or leveling service) then the account can still be held responsible for the penalty because of the impact it had on the game environment. We've found the above behavior is many times directly related to groups responsible for compromising World of Warcraft accounts; we take these issues very seriously. To better understand our position against exploitative activity and the risks involved, please review this article: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/basics/antigold.html The exploitative activity that took place on this account violates the World of Warcraft Terms of Use. We ask you take a moment to review these terms at http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/legal/termsofuse.html. Note that additional Terms of Use violations may result in more severe actions against this account, up to and including permanent closure. For any disputes of this action or further information on Exploitive Activity, please visit the Exploitative Activity FAQ and contact page here: http://us.blizzard.com/support/article/exploitfaq
I received the same e-mail. I replied to them and played dumb, but if they don't respond by tomorrow night I'm going to give them a call. The weird thing is that they also reset my account password, so it's possible that they think I have been hacked.
Same here. 3rd party automation with the password reset. I've appealed, and we'll see where that goes. I was fairly specific in my appeal letter, so don't want to give too many details here. I don't believe HB is being detected directly.. that'd have resulted in a Perma-Ban fairly instantly. I do think that the other theories might hold water... time in zone, especially if you're over-leveled for it.. number of kills, etc. A level 80 spending 8 hours in Sillithus to grind for a Krol blade, for example, might raise a few of their alarm bells. 1)Were you using Honorbuddy, Gatherbuddy or both on the account? HonorBuddy 2)If so, when was the last time?: 6/20/2010 3)What profile were you using?: 1-80 profile pack for Alliance 4)What combat class were you using? if None Just put Default then the Classname: Shaman 5)What plugins are you using?: None 6)How many hours per day did you bot for?: 6 7)How many auctions per day did you have?: - 8)Did you Use Any Other Bots, Hacks, or Mods? Nope 9)Was your account involved in gold selling? HELL no. The gold is MINE.
Yes i also emailed them and are waiting for a responce. And i also recieved the password reset which was strange. Why would they do that ? does anyone know if its safe to start botting again after the suspension is over or do they truely monitor you... i cant see them wasting alot of time and money doing that but who knows
It really depends how they found us in the first place. If it was a player report, then a 2 week stint perhaps of not botting could be sufficient. If they were counting kills and time in zone, then so long as we don't grind for any one thing in particular for too long if we're over-leveled, then we should be okay. YMMV, but it IS a warning. We should probably be careful, and honestly, not bot on the account if we're afraid to lose it. -D. McS
What are you going to say to them on the phone if you call.... just more creative act dumb stuff lol ?? just wondering cause i may do the same If we are just in the middle of leveling then we shouldnt be over leveled for anything so you think it should be safe to go at it again then ?? maybe if we wait a week or so ?
When i got a perma banned lifted, i started botting 2 days after, and have had no problems, but i havent been botting recently cuz of the patch. Id wait a week for maximum security.
I got one too. Im pretty sure its a guess at botting. Its most likley there monitor doing an automated suspension I would think. Ive botted for 4 yrs and player reports usually involve them gettting the report and watching your acc. then perma ban. I dont think they would just WARN you using an automated system. It would be wrong to many times. I do treasure the account im using though. So im wondering if I should reply in order to avoid a perma ban? What should I say though? They changed the password incase it was a scammer, but if I use that exuse and they investigate and find only MY IP. What then? Who here has had one b4 and gotten away unscathed? If so what did you do if anything?
lol why would you buy gold when you're botting too? you can get at least 5x that amount in a single night.
when you reply i would make mention that blizz has made it easier for account hackers by making your email your user name which gives them half your login details and before you had to have a battle.net account all acc's were much more secure as now they just have to guess your password.
Anyone have experience with receiving a 72 hour ban with the exact message described by the OP? Curious to see if we're going to actually get unbanned, or if it's permanent.
i called, spoke to 2 reps... they said it is going to be lifted for me.. i asked 'are u sure?' - guy said yeah. he claimed i was either gold farming, power leveling, or my acct was hacked.. mind you im only a 46 pally.
can you also maybe tell us a little of what you said to get out of it. I am interested myself as to how i might do the same
