I have a problem. I'm trying to get a good operative routine. Right now the choices of premade routines are Joe's (really low DPS, but reliable. Problem here is it can't kill anything within 2 levels of me) or Wingit. My problem with Wingit is for some reason the operative just takes off after he does his first rotation. What I mean by that is he just books it in the opposite direction of the mob if it survives the initial rotation, resulting in the MOB either resetting, or my death by pulling multiple groups. I edited the Wingit Routine and got it running a standard high dps Lethality rotation... but it still runs away! Just to futz with it I removed sections of the combat section of the routine that tells the bot to move (such as the section at the bottom that tells it to move into melee range) and after I do that Wingit is no longer a recognized combat routine by Buddy Wing. So, the long and short of this is I can't bot my operative anymore because I can't get a functioning combat routine that doesn't get me killed within 3 minutes of going AFK. Here's the default routine from Wingit (that also has the same problems as my edited version)
OK, so now I'm confused. I just loaded a routine that someone did who doesn't have this problem, and it's still running around like a chicken with it's head cut off. I can't figure this out. Is anyone else having a problem with the but just running around like an idiot? I'm running on a fresh install of BW
So no one else has this problem? With other melee classes, or operatives? Does your bot sometimes just straight up stop attacking sometimes? Because I get that a lot too. This is frustrating as hell, I didn't have this problem until like 2 patches ago. *edit update* Anyone seen multiplicity? I feel like that's what's going on here every time I start this bot back up. I restarted SWTOR and the bot and now it just runs around not attacking at all. *God willing, final update* I think I fixed it. The preset "melee range" for this bot is absurdly low. I don't know about anyone else, but I get lag whenever I receive a command from the Nav server (I think, or when the bot makes a move... or something), for like half a second. So what was happening is my bot would get to the bot's definition of melee range and then lag out and keep running. So it would try to run back... over, and over and over until finally it would get fed up and just keep running. So I changed the definition of melee range to not one pixel away and it seems to be working now... I hope... I may have just jinxed it. My bot died while I was typing this. *edit 3, update* Nope, I was wrong. It's not fixed at all. This is really pissing me off.
I have the same problems with ops and scoundrels, strangely enough jugs and knights are ok. I think you are on to something with the mele range and syncing though as I thought the exact same thing and edited it to no avail myself. I wound up using healing spec and using my companion as the dps and at least I could handle the extra packs I pulled but it was a terribly slow gring compared to other classes.
I don't know what happened, but all of a sudden the bot became an all-star. Not only did I not get any FPS lag (I usually get a lot) but the thing operated flawlessly without any stupid running around, and worked for hours without losing track of where it was and going afk. I don't think any of my edits were responsible for that, so I'm totally at a loss for what made it work. If current trends are any indication though, it probably won't work this morning *edit* Yep. Spikey, laggy movements again. I think maybe it has to do with how many people using the server. During off periods the bot run way smoother. Yep. Died after two pulls because it lagged out and went spazzy. :\ ... Update again, my bot has been running for 5 minutes and it's died 3 times already. Now it went AFK :|
Have you tried setting the affinity of your processor cores? Control alt delete, sort processes by ram usage, right click set affinity for the top swtor process to the first half of your cores, second swtor process and buddywing to the second half of your cores. This eliminates any lag I get and the bot runs 10x better bit it doesn't fix any server issues.
I'll give that a try. I'm at work right now, so I'll check it out when I get home, but I believe my processor may be too old.
WOW!!!!! That's a night and day difference! Holy crap! Thank you so much! This fixed my running around problem too! You're my hero!
Glad it helped it doesnt fix my randomly running off problem so maybe your wingit edit fixed that, I should try it.
Well, I only watched it for like 5 minutes and then I had to go back to work. I'll let you know how it looks after I've had more time to actually watch my bot's performance. If it is fixed, I'll be happy to show you what I changed and maybe it'll help you out.
