I am looking for some advice about how I should use this bot. Right now I usually use it for leveling when I'm not home to play myself. I really don't want to get my account in trouble but here's the problem - say the bot is running for 8 hours and then I get home and I actually want to play for a while, is it safe? I know they say that botting for long periods of time is what gets you banned, but what if I bot for a while then come home, log on to another toon, and tank some instances? Part of me thinks it's okay because I'm logging in and out, then actually interacting with other players, but also I'm thinking it looks bad because after a long ICC and daily heroics, my account has been logged in for 12+ hours at a time. And then when it's time to sleep I want to go back to bot leveling again. It just seems like I have to choose either botting or actually playing to be safe, any insight on this problem?

My friend, i too had the same thought, i have chosen not to worry about it until it happens, ive been botting pretty much straight through the past 2-3 days. I got on a diff toon to do the cata quests and get my feat of strength, so i am hoping that it isnt a big deal. a lot of ppl play constantly without botting, so its not like blizz can say anything. look at powerlevelers that do it by hand, or ppl with no lives. i think blizz wouldnt get to suspicious over your account, as long as you dont get reported by other players. I almost got reported in a wsg, cuz this a** druid kept buffing mark of the wild, and my pally would put his buff back on right after, good thing i showed up and said something lol. So thats my bit, theres plenty of others thatll tell you much the same i bet. :p Keep rockin ;)

Well I'm also thinking about it like this. While it is completely normal to have a toon that isn't affiliated with your guild or whatnot, I'm sure it could look odd that I get on a toon for 8 hours, do nothing but straight questing/grinding the whole time without saying one word, then log on a main and talk/do normal things.

I really do care about having my WoW account more than being able to bot. I'm not using it to make money or anything. The reason I bought this in the first place is because I needed to move 2 toons, one being an 80 Priest that I actually did want to move because it has a lot of achievements / feats that can't be replaced, but the other was a 44 mage that I had just recently been leveling. I also needed to faction change these toons and then I came across this program and figured I would just try this to remake the mage on another server, and it would be cheaper. I'm just thinking that blizz might not be happy with a sudden increase in account usage and whatnot. Who knows, maybe I'm worry about it for nothing, I've used speed hacks and fly hacks a hell of a lot in the past and never got banned (I never used them to harm other players or "win" anything) just like I don't use bots to mess up the in game economy (that much) and I never use them in battlegrounds. Lets just hope for the best I suppose

right, well, the thing is, blizz says not to share your account, but they know ppl do it anyways, maybe you are just lvling and dont want to be disturbed? alts do this all the time, i dont think you have much to worry about.

Yeah, you know that if they really wanted to ban people for using each other's account they would. It's a bit MORE than obvious when somebody logs in from one IP adress and then another less than a minute later, or when somebody logs in to your account somewhere else and it forces you off. They care about your 15 bucks more though. Same thing with buying gold an everything. If gold sellers, and bot makers are legit companies, and there are youtube videos, and other advertisements showing it off to the world, then blizzard could easily shut them all down. But I think they would rather get behind them and take some of their profit along with the 15 bucks a month. And then a few people have to get banned to make it look like they are doing their job.

Sounds like the United States government lol

if i'm correct, Blizzard does not have an eye on your time being online. So as longs as HB / GB is undetected and no one reports you, you can play as long as you want.

hi, mordd's profiles are working pretty flawlessly for me. Only had two deaths till now , probably my fault or cc. It does a good amount of quests, but it often grinds to the next lvl like yours. But as i'm using instancebuddy while grinding it's pretty fast. I fully recommend it. Don't know how it works with 45+, see that in a few hours ;)

I'm using the 1-60 Dwarf/gnome quest order profile and my Mage in full BoA had died 47 times at level 34. I don't really see how this happens because I watch it engage 4 mobs and take them all out and never run out of mana, but somehow it got all of those deaths while I was afking. But then again you know waht they say about mages xD

Instance buddy doesn't work with tanking. I've tried it on my 67 shaman though and healing was pretty good, however it looks VERY bottish. You can set it up to say a bunch of different things each time you need to drink, but for some reason, instead of targetting players the whole time, it cycles through all the mobs and I think that could give it away a bit. DPSing though, works pretty good. In enhancement my bot was doing second dps, everyone in the group was in full BoAs including myself. And yeah I'm on a pvp server. Would be funny to find some 80 camping my bot overnight, never even thought about it

Blizz can (and probably does) check your logged on time if they have a reason to suspect you. I personally try not to bot more than 10-12 hours per day, I have been botting on 3 accounts and never been banned or suspended since February.

I know there are plenty of people here who bot 24/7 and never get banned either, but there is certainly a greater risk. If you want to keep it safe just use it sparingly. Or start another account that you don't care about.

Questing is still a little wonky. I've been able to use Mordd's profiles with some success but they are not 100% afk friendly. If you want afk botting, find some nice grinding profiles that are in a remote area.

My GB toon has been online 24/7 (part from patch days of course) for hmmm 2 months or more.

But you must also remember the good old days when blizzard banned you just for having glider installed somewhere, not even running it.
Not that they scan outside the wow folder anymore, but if you want to be safe, dont bot.

It's not botting 24/7 that I'm worried about, I will never do that. It's just the time my account is logged into the game that I'm worried about. Probably about 50% of the time time my account is logged in I am at least home to notice if a gm were to message me or something, but I still think I could be looking suspicious

They won't whisper you, they will just hit you with a suspension.

I bot during the day and raid/play by hand at night. but my total play time on any given day is not more than 10-12 hours just to be safe. That's about the normal amount of time any human would play by hand so it's no suspicious. Again, this is on my main account which I don't want banned so I play it safe.
